Have a few of the hardbacks, but I would pass on a digital version just as a personal preference. Based off the shows, they're almost more of a picture book than just recipes.
Alton's show itself was great. Talked about the how and why of cooking and not just the recipe. Had my old Directivo half full of his episodes. I would have even bought the DVDs, if they hadn't thru some marketing @$^@#$-up decided to package them by type* of show rather than seasons or complete series. (* ie. "Pantry Raid", "Super Sweets", "Juicy Meats", etc. etc.)

Thanks OP. I had digital credits which always expire before I use them. I've enjoyed Alton's show in the past

Why is spiral bound $2,430.85? I need to know what secrets it holds to make it so special.

Two people that I cannot stand.
Alton Brown and Martha Stewart.
Will not buy.
That's unfortunate. There probably isn't a more-informative chef out there.

That drove me nuts, too.

Watched him from the beginning, he was awesome until he became weird. What a shame. The glory days of Food Network, Alton, Ming Tsai, Iron Chef.
