I bought a few last month at this price. I wouldn't say it's a good deal, because they're not that well made and the plastic is horribly flimsy.

With that said, I also bought the 108qt version on Amazon for $32, and it seems the smaller ones are more durable than the larger ones.

FYI... these are in no way waterproof, or even water resistant. And as far as lockable... I guess if you have no arms legs or teeth you might have a hard time getting past the locking system. Lol.

So, just don't go crazy on these like I did last month thinking they were better than they really are lol.
saying these are not heavy duty enough...what are you doing with these hauling rocks ? I got a bunch and I'm totally satisfied with them...interestingly as soon as people see these thay want one so ive had to give some away ...to each his own i guess

use something like this to help waterproof..

I read somewhere that you can waterproof it somehow. I want to use it as a battery storage box. I'm not sure if the eco flow delta 2 max will fix the small size

I have 2 of these, spent $5 for some weather stripping now they are waterproof. Sure I shouldn't need to do that but I like the design of these and the price was right on them.

I saw these in store. They look cool but one was broken at the handle. I'm not sure if I'd describe them as flimsy but it's definitely not heavy duty.
The one-three star reviews confirm as much.
They're probably fine for storing things like documents.
If you don't care about dimensions or the lid design, it's hard to beat the $10 HDX 27 gallon storage bins.

I bought 4 from Amazon on the previous $12 deal, and unfortunately came to the same conclusion as you. They're just ok, nothing special. Plano makes great small storage containers, but I think the 14gallon containers are a huge swing and miss from them. The plastic seems very thin and flimsy compared to their smaller stuff and seems way less sturdy than the yellow and black Costco 27gallon storage totes.

I get that you can supposedly make them waterproof by introducing a foam seal around the lid, but honestly if you could care less about that feature, like me. You're better off just buying the larger Costco totes when they go on sale for $8 or $9 a piece. I'm not angry about these for $12, but don't think you're getting the deal of the century for that price.

I bought some of these over 10 years go, and I love them. The heavy duty lid is great for stacking things with weight. The handles lock the top on nicely for when you move them around. You lose a little efficiency because of the grid reinforcement on top, but that is like an inch of space. The overall build quality of mine are great.

The point where they return to relevance is the 27 gal wheeled tote with the tie down hooks. This is the perfect car adventure tote. If you visit parks, cook outdoors, or send your kids away to summer camp, its got the size to handle all that and move around easily. Ive got two that have been all over, dropped a ton, rained on for days, and they have never let me down.

I've got one at my grill to store grill tools and one as a "tool carry" for when I need to go take care of things as my parents.

One of these is as big as 3 of my ridgid tool bags. So it is handier to have this in the trunk.

Thanks for the feedback. I was under the misconception PLANO was the good stuff.

I ended up ordering one of these over the weekend to put the Eco Worthy 150AH battery in for my camper as I couldn't find a normal battery box to fit it.

i bought 2 of the 14 gallon ones a couple months ago. have one in my '12 f150 crew cab and it fits perfectly in the back seat area (on the floor with the seats folded down like normal). the other ones been sitting in my driveway. checked it yesterday and its bone dry inside, so imo it seems waterproof.. at least rainproof. im in south louisiana with plenty of storms over the past month or two. in for a 17 gallon, thanks op

These are great! I keep food grains in them and critters don't end up in there. They maintain a nice even temperature and humidity. The cost storage containers
