This has been a Myth that's been going on for a long time. It's safe (even with spinning disk). Magnetic fields reduce exponentially to distance. Magnets on a device like this can not possibly get close enough to the actual magnetic surface on the disk (because it's inside the device) to cause any sort of effect.

The last time this was a problem was when a Floppy disk was a thing and you can literally rub the magnet against the plastic magnetic disk in a floppy (and if you're tech enough Zip Disk).
Devices that can generate enough magnetic power to erase a harddrive on magnetic power along cost $1,000s of dollars and are called debaussers. You'll be hard press to find any sort of device in a house that has enough magnetic power to erase a hard drive even sitting on the enclosure.
Lamicall my cuz in china & ask him. Im gonna lisen real good & get back to you.
Lisen getting a lot of attention on SD lately. Must have paid them.

Can you find similar ones like this but are removeable like with Command strips or similar? I've seen some silicone stuff but not for cable stays.

With this deal, LISEN is about $0.78 each ($6.39 for 8), while Lamicall is $0.83 each ($5 for 6). I had great experience with LISEN's car mounts and charging cords. I find that their quality and price are very good compared to the brand names. IMO, LISEN deal is the better choice when compared to the Lamicall ones.

Has it become safe to have magnets near electronics (disk drives)?

Lisen here now. That's how they keep the doors open. You cannot bite the hand that feeds you.
