I was waiting for the new Y for my first Tesla. Once I saw that it was just the launch version and no seven seater in sight, I decided to buy the current model earlier this month.

I love it. Incredible car. Incredible Tech. I have put 1600 miles on it in 3 weeks and have maybe only touched the steering wheel ten times - no joke.

We drive about 60 miles a day and charging it off-peak hours has, so far, cost me $22. $22 for 1300 miles (the rest were supercharger).

Every time the software updates it feels almost like getting a new car.

Honestly, I can't imagine why I would buy anything other than tesla in the future. They are that good.

People do not like Musk. I know two Tesla owners who had their cars vandalized. Do Not Buy a Tesla.

This new development in the EV world drives me nuts. I pay more for the new TX EV tax per year than I would in TX gas tax if I had an ICE car. And I drive one of the least efficient EVs, a F150 Lightning (which I love). If I had a Tesla, equivalent to a 30mpg CUV ICE vehicle, I'd really be annoyed with the EV registration fees.

TX EV tax on my F150 Lightning = $200 a year

F150 ICE driven 12k miles a year at 17mpg would generate $142 in Gas Tax for the state of Texas
It's the same for me. My Bolt EV has 42k miles on it and I've owned it for 7ish years now and I have to pay $200 a year. So $1400.. I'd have to drive a vehicle that gets less than 7mpg to hit the state gas tax. Like don't get me wrong I'd gladly pay my fair share but it's just insane to me..
