A Pixel8 at 399 would be comparable, if not better, than the 16e in all aspects.

yes, that is right. that's where i got mine. needed two months of service to unlock so i did also pay for a 3 month plan, can't remember how much that was. but it unlocked and i'm now using it on US Mobile Verizon service. I like it, but it's heavy and i feel like that back camera glass is going to break at any time. I can buy another one but price has gone up to $399. Still thinking about it since my wife has the Pixel 8 and it's just a matter of time before destroys it.

Ya I bought 2 and gave one to family. Only needed to turn it on once and have a Mint sim in it, than 60 days later over wifi it automatically got the unlock.

thats false, my pixel 9 is great dont get me wrong, but the god awful chipset ruins the experience. Pixel 9 is an other wise perfect phone, but the heating issue wirth Tensor G4 is really bad, and I cannot deal with it personally. And that heat also affects battery life.
