It's a crate.

Crates don't have lids.
Got one in and the handles are...squared-off edges and sharp. I mean there's work gloves and stuff to counter that, but one shouldn't have to go that far for a crate meant for lugging heavy stuff around. Don't know if I got a weird one but it's noticeably uncomfortable to handle even when empty.

Home Depot delivered their last 2 from the closest store to me today. Got the floor model, scratched to hell and with the $34.98 hanging tag on it.

Was hoping they nested for when they're empty, but they don't. Crates I guess don't nest.

its for their stackout. youre supposed to stack them. if you wanted nesting ones, just get regular bins and dont use the lids.

This just a plastic box with name branding on it. Got this @ sams instead. They fold & stack for true portability.

Or is it a container if it has a lid?

Maybe wrap it with duct tape?
