I have the all clad set from costco for $550 but I would get these sale price $150 sets if I could do it over again and save $400. I got the all clad because I thought my bad cooking was due to cheap pans lol. Turns out you need to preheat the stainless steel pans to about 375-450F or until water droplets bead up and then add a decent amount of oil before cooking/searing. Every stove is different so get a $5 surface temp thermometer to get a feel for the temperature range for each dial setting. This taught me my stove has a 300F variance between the 4 and 5 dial numbers out of 9 ticks. If I was under 4 my food was raw and above 5 it burnt to a crisp. I was adding oil, turning up the heat to an unknown temp and then adding the meat and it would either burn or take so long and over cook. After learning this I went to try it on my old cheap stainless pans and cooked just as well as the all clad. Only thing missing from the set is an 8qt stock pot which to me is a bummer but if you don't make large batches of stuff then it's not needed.
If you prefer lips on your pots and pans for easy pouring of liquids without spillage, I would recommend Henkels. I have tried both of these sets and returned the calphalon one.
A rule of thumb, for Henkels products, you need to pick the products with a two-figure logo. At least this is true for its cutlery products. Products with a single-figure logo are its lower quality product lines.

For its cutlery products, products with a two-figure logo are manufactured in Germany and a single-figure logo are manufactured in either Spain or China.

There's an 8-piece of this same brand and model on the front page for the same price. Why would I not want this 12-piece instead? Am I missing something?

How does this compare to the Henckels Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel 12-piece Cookware Set that goes on sale every now and then?

Calphalon premier stainless, the appearance is much better, brushed surface. The lid is flat. I missed the December sale. My patience pays off. This unit was carried by many stores, but Costco decided to have them online only. Some stores had it clearance price for $89.97.

Lip edge is better for pouring. Glass lids are better because you can see thru, and they're domed vs flat-ish. Henckels over this one, for the above two reasons.

I have 2 sets of these, 1 in a rental home. They have been great so far and these should last many years.

Got this set in-store during clearance at same $150 price. Later, they even lowered to $100. Great set. This set also has glass lids, despite another comment claiming these do not.

I bought the 10-piece set in 2017 for $150 and it has held up great over the years.
