The primary use case I see for this is between a DVR in a secured location and a multi-camera monitor in a location where it can be constantly watched. If it works well in a particular use case, this is a pretty cool little piece of tech for $15. With the fiber optic internals I'd definitely be more careful not to bend it too sharply during installation.
It's said it's fiber optic my guess is there's a chip/emitter inside that convert the electrical signal to optical signal like toslink/spdif then another sensor chip translate it back

Congrats on reading the full spec, now read the amendment to the spec. You are out of date.
Some folks have an "I have my mind made up; don't confuse me with the facts" attitude. The link below on amended specs supports your comments and mine, and settles the issue as far as I'm concerned.

I read the spec, you obviously have not.

But here is what hdmi.org publicly stated [hdmi.org] about it: "HDMI Cables with HDMI Cable Power include a separate power connector for use with source devices that do not support the HDMI Cable Power feature. Typically, these connectors will be USB Micro-B or USB Type-C®, but different power connector types may be used. "

The separate power connector is not optional; it is mandatory. This is how we know that the Amazon cable is not specification compliant, and it can damage your equipment. Use at your own risk.

I may use with a splitter to sync signal so my TVs across the house aren't a few seconds apart streaming sports. Always sucks when someone in another room reacts before you see a play is over.
You often watch the same match as someone else in your home, but separately??
