In for one. Hoping this is actually a good deal. I've wanted to upgrade from our 5800x and this seems like a good option

Right. Try looking it up there was an article about it just the other day. It's not the chip as much as the board causing it with Asrock being the biggest offender.

There are articles all over the place about it. They say the problem is growing and AMD has acknowledged it, but hasn't commented on it yet.

Gamer's nexus was a poor example. However, there are reports of this all over the place. Personally it wouldn't hurt to wait to hear from AMD on this issue.

I dont have to look up anything, I own one. Of course if you use a poorly designed thermal board or improper thermal compound application or improper cooler mount or improper air flow you can cause issues. There are many variables and plenty of people buying high end parts without much experience. But to say 9800x3d's "are frying all over the place" is disinformation. I overclocked mine and can hit 5800mhz while gaming, on a $50 air cooler it stays around 80 degrees and I keep my fans quiet so it could be even cooler if I wanted.

Yea I watched that video the day it came out and knew about it before GN ever made the video. That was specifically caused by the PC noob that had no idea what they were doing. You really need to stop, you don't know what you're talking about. Respectfully.

The very fact that you won't look it up, discredits your claim of disinformation. Furthermore, anecdotal evidence of you having a good setup does not mean it is not happening.

I haven't purchased an Intel chip in years, I'm running a 9700x and have no reason to say this, or confirmation bias as an owner. Look it up, there are multiple reports and they believe it might be bad boards, but haven't ruled out bad chips.

That's why I went with another article, because that wasn't the best example. But there are lots of articles on it.
