Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.
1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.
Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

Has anyone done an iPhone 11 trade in and so what did you get and ultimately end up paying after all is at and done.

A corporate store definitely has the ability. I've done it twice in the past 3 months. Either the rep was feeling lazy about it, or the system actually was down. 50/50 chance IMO.

Did you send it only in the mailer, or in a box?

Sent it in a box ! Used same box that I received my new iPhone. I also recorded boxing and phone condition before shipping. Fingers crossed now.

Tried to turn in the trade in phone at T-Mo corporate store. The rep said the system is not letting take the trade in and suggested me to ship it! Shipped it last week and now UPS tracking shows item damaged/missed 🤦🏻

What a mess! Don't understand why the store cannot accept the phone.

Wow you got screwed..

Just went to Costco T-Mobile kiosk and used a iPhone 11 Pro valued at $80. $500-$80=$420 in bill credits or $17.50 in bill credits per month for 24 months. I got the iPhone 16 Pro Max $1200–$420=$780 cost of the phone. $35 activation fee "waived" if purchasing an accessory. Cheapest accessory to "waive" the $35 activation is $20 so effectively paying $15. $100 Costco shop card given after 90 days. Total net cost = $780+$15-$100=$695.00. Are my calculations correct?
they screwed you on the activation fee- there is NO activation fee

Used to work for tmobile. The credits continue even if you pay off early unless you cancel service. I'm definitely worried about international unlocking since my parents are leaving next week.
yeah old news- the new policy , as stated is no unlock since last year

the kiosk rep scammed you.

they earn commission from selling you additional stuff.

The fee waive is part of being a Costco member and you don't need to pay for an accessory to have it waived.

Get Costco to refund you and report that T-Mobile associate.

How good it could be? Just save $200 at most. Plus getting a phone locked for two years. Before their phone unlock in 40 days. But they don't do it any more.

They suggested you to ship it because they don't want to help.

You should have went to a different store. Even the T-Mobile employees on the phone told me to trade it in the store over the shipping

If your phone has a high trade in value, you'll get less monthly bill credits and vice versa. You're still getting the $500 back either way at the end of the day for the top trade ins.

if you trade in the cheapest phone you can and sell the expensive phone. you are NOT "getting back $500 either way"

I don't know if I am smart or not but a lot of people just thinking they "save" $500 in this "deal". I am telling you you are not. The phone you trade in worth at least $100 to $120. A lot of people use the iPhone 12 or 13 to trade in which is even more. The phone itself is $250-$300 depreciated from the time it released. So after that $100 Costco shop card, you save $250 max. Averagely it is only $200 for most people. Plus the phone is locked for 24 months. Most flippers don't even tough this deal.

Since you are soooooo smart, tell us your math here

Sorry that happened to you.

I would suggest trying to reach out to tforce on twitter or facebook and explain the situation.

Mention that you tried bringing it at a corporate store and they told you to ship it out
