Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.
1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.
Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

Anyone know if the trade in has screen crack? Would they simply decline or decrease the trade in value? Thanks! I have a iPhone 12, it is working well, but it has a long crack on the screen

I was just able to upgrade my iPhone 12 by calling the Costco T-Mobile number. One weird thing.. the financing agreement DocuSign that I had to e-sign only showed the $75 trade in value of my phone and not the full $500, and showed a much higher monthly payment value. The customer rep told me that's the pre trade-in value and that I'll start receiving the monthly credit once they receive the trade-in. Was it the same for you guys?
Yes, I was told the same thing. You can verify the promotion in your TM account (check one of my previous replies for the details), which will state the monthly credit you should get to account for the remaining $425.

We are about 6 months into the new phone cycle. They usually have decent deals this time of year.
For me, this deal was special because it applies to legacy plans such as Simple Choice. Most of the yearly upgrade deals TM normally offers require one of the pricier plans.

You do not need to take your tradein phone in for the upgrade. Just go there or call the Costco TM number and ask about the deal. They will pull up your TM account to confirm and do the paperwork. Costco does not handle the trade-in. I don't think they will give you the new phone either, but I did my upgrade over the phone so not sure about that part. You will need to either mail-in your tradein or take it to a TM Corp store.

I checked and asked about the upgrade fee and apple store reps said it was charged by t-mobile and they can't waive it.

Did you make an order, or just talking. I made two orders and never got charged on DCC fee.

Check your next bill. You will see the DCC charges that you crave. Only Costco waives the DCC fee as a promotion listed. Apple never listed that.

For me, I don't care if I am tied to t-mobile for life as long as I am paying $45 plus tax for 6 lines total.

Thank you! A small crack around the corner in the front, it doesn't affect anything, but do you know if they will reject it or reduce the trade in credit?
