This mower's MSRP (according to the original price placard at the store) is $899, but it has been on sale/reduced to $749 for a while now. But, for some reason, only some stores have this marked as clearance for either $419, $450, or $539. I have been watching it for a while, waiting for the snow to break to see how low it will go. For my stores it was at $559 for a couple of months, just dropped to $539 a couple of weeks ago. With the %10 off coupons floating around, or if you have military discount like me, then the price is $486. Less if you are luck enough to have one of the lower reported clearance prices.
This is Ryobi's top of the line mower from their 40V push mower series, and comes with 2 batteries that sell for $219 each. Here is a review:

Looking forward to trying this bad boy out, it is my first electric. I also got one of the Honda mowers from the recent deal posted here, the hydrostatic 200 series engine one that is Hondas top of the line. I feel a shootout coming

.
Here is a previous thread with a lot of replies from others who have used this mower:

In order to find stores that have this clearance price:
1) Go to the product page:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317845502
2) find the "Store Pickup" box on the right of the page, to the left of the "Delivery" selection box.
3) Right above the "Store Pickup" box, it will say "Available at: ", where the store name is a hyperlink. Select that store name hyperlink, and you should be presented with a slide out "Select a store" menu on the right side of the page.with a list of stores in your area.
4) Look for any in the list that say "On Clearance In Store". Note the store(s) with that description and note the store name/number. Exit this menu.
5) Back on the main page, on the very top left of the page, the the right of the home depot logo, click the hyperlink for the store name which is currently set as your home store. Use the "find another store" search box to search for the store you found in step 4, and select "Shop this store", and the menu should exit.
6) Once back on the mower page, below the price of $749 on the top right, you should now see a hyperlink that says "See In-Store Clearance Price", and selecting that should confirm that the price is $450 at the store you picked.
7) You cannot order for pickup or have it shipped for this price, you will have to go and get one. No idea why, it's goofy imho, but w/e.

I finally had the time this weekend to unbox this mower and play with it. I also just got the top of the line Honda gas mower from this thread which I am comparing this Ryobi mower to: https://slickdeals.net/f/18137065-21-honda-nexite-deck-hydrostatic-cruise-control-gas-self-propelled-mower-549-select-stores-free-shipping
I am VERY impressed with this Ryobi, first of all it is SO EASY to use. I didn't think no oil, ICE, gas, etc. would be that big of a deal, but it really is! Also, because this Ryobi has no gas/oil, with one lever I can collapse the Ryobi and store it vertically in the garage which is HUGE for me, I don't have much space.
Comparing the two mower's features:
1) The Ryobi is RWD or AWD, there is a switch to change drive modes, the Honda is RWD only. With the weird bumpy hilly parts of my yard AWD will be very useful!
2) The Ryobi has one lever to adjust the mow height, while you have to adjust 4 levers for mow height on the Honda. I have to do this a few times per mow, so this is appreciated!
3) The Ryobi weighs 77 lbs operating weight, vs. 100lbs for the Honda. As I just figured out, that weight difference makes a difference. The Ryobi is a lot easier to move around/man handle. It is also less awkward given how it's handle is designed vs. the Honda.
Everything else seems the same featurewise... they both basically have 4 cuttings modes, they both are self propelled with "cruise control" and pretty granular speed adjustments, both cross cut dual blade, etc. They both have 5 year mower warranties, and the Ryobi has 3 years on the batteries.
The Ryobi seems powerful in the normal mode, but there is a blade speed switch, and when you put that on high, holy crap, WAY more powerful than what I expected for an electric mower.
The one HUGE con with the Ryobi even compared to other electric mowers would be the batteries. Supposedly you get between 45min to an hour of mowing using BOTH batteries that it comes with, although both are installed in the mower at the same time, so no running back to the garage to change the battery. That isn't a very long time though, but shoudl be enough to mow most average suburban yards. BUT, it seems like the lifespan of these batteries is 3 to 5 years, and replacing these batteries is around $200 each, so to replace them both would be more than the value of the mower after being a few years old. Good thing about the 3 year warranty, so guaranteed at least 3 years of use before having to replace the batteries (or getting a new mower).
The Honda will last forever relatively speaking. Being bulletproof, being MORE than powerful enough to handle and job, and lasting probably 20 years is probably worth as much or more than the extra features of the Ryobi, the last piece is which one is easier to use and/or does a better job.
The one thing I haven't done is tested both mowers doing the full yard, since it is still winter no grass yet. I will be using the Ryobi in the next week or two to mulch all of the leaves that gathered in the yard since the last leaf removal. Based on how it works to do that I will know most of what I need to know about this mower like how long the batteries last for me, how it handles the terrain of my yard, and how well it gathers leaves (which is a big deal for me). I already know the Honda will do very well. Then of course to see how the Ryobi will handle mowing the actual grass.
I was originally going to either return or sell the Honda if the Ryobi was good enough for me... but knowing that the Ryobi only has a guaranteed 3 year shelf life, I will probalby keep the Honda and use it occasionally to keep it healthy, since they don't make mowers any more

Another option I recall (aside from just searching the SD forums, posting a request in the SD coupon forum, or googling) is getting a moving package coupon. It has been a LOOOONG time since I have done that, so not sure how that works currently, if at all.
It shows $750 on the website, but if you select a store that has it on sale, there will be a link on the product page that says "click to see clearance price.
The store did not have a floor model or any price tags. I found the mower up top in the storage area, and got an associate to help me get it down. Walked through to the checkout and it rang up at $450. It was great finally getting a YMMV deal especially when I needed a new mower.
To be on the safe side, I wouldn't run the battery till the mower shuts off. I think that killed the battery.
