I recently discovered wootplus.com to search through Woot inventory, so much better than having to scroll through categories.
Woot is wholly owned by Amazon. If you trust Amazon, they are no worse. I've probably bought from Woot around 10 times, including from before they were bought by Amazon, and never had a problem. I had to make a return once because a Kindle I bought was defective, and they just refunded my money and didn't ask for the Kindle back.
How is this helping? Woot? Sounds weird to me. Based on no other info... It's bad. Stop commenting.

Thank you this is super helpful!!
I'm finding it is missing things that are on the front page (example - search for Magic)...wonder why?

Yeah, they are Amazon's Temu (until Haul picks up). I just hate this arrangement. Maybe one day they'll make it illegal or something.
They are far from that. Temu is similar items to mainstream items but made as absolutely cheaply as possible. Functional? Sure. Cheap? Ridiculously so. Haul IS the nearly identical equivalent of Temu.

Woot is the dumping grounds of the unsold products from Amazon - the main part, not Haul. Woot has been around for years. It was first a daily deal website with a unique feel. Bezos bought it literally just bc he was intrigued by it. Then it became over time what it is.

Even temu let's you search though. Woot is worse in this one regard.

Wondered about this many a time...Assumedly it's by design. One could surmise their thinking is making customers scroll through items (instead of searching for specific items) increases the chance of impulse buys. Kind of like the impulse items placed along the checkout aisle at the grocery store. Probably only makes sense because woot has limited stock of things. Another analogy might be a garage sale, as were more common back in the day.
Doesn't work for me, ever. I find it frustrating enough to never buy.

Wootsearch.com is a better search engine I've found. Example, on wootplus.com search Blink and it finds nothing, do it again on wootsearch.com and you'll find several Blink camera deals. This is just one example but it's happened several times so I just use wootsearch.com.
Nice! Hadn't heard of that one. Just did a comparison of searching for "iPad", wootsearch gave me 20 items, wootplus gave me 23 items. Searched for "earbuds" wootsearch no results, wootplus 47 items. Definitely keyword dependent, I'll use both from now on although I do prefer the UI on wootplus since it's two items per row and faster to scroll.

I don't buy from Woot that often, but lately there has been a decent selection of new electronics (mostly earbuds and headphones) that are priced quite a bit lower than retail.

Not even when a great deal is posted here on SD?

My initial reaction to being on woot is always frustration because I'm so used to searching by keywords everywhere, Amazon, Google, Windows, etc

But after that initial frustration I kind of like browsing. It's like window shopping. You don't have to buy everything or even anything. But you never know what great deal you can find. Could give one a chance to post something good on Slickdeals.

Both of these are good resources that I wasn't aware of, so thank you for sharing.

They have final fantasy 7 rebirth for $37.99. Does anyone know if Best Buy will price match?

The only issue with Woot is that even though you can use Amazon pay, you can't use any gift card value you have from your Amazon account. You can use your Prime Visa for 5% cash back, you can use its points, you even get the shipping....but you can't use any gift card balance.

It's by design to get you to see other things you may "need" and impulse buy. It's like how grocery stores put the milk in the far back corner and move products around randomly. Forces you to look at other things and force an impulse trigger. Wootsearch is very helpful in doing a direct search.
If you believe their staff this is not correct. They have stated on their forums that due to them being a surplus/off loading store they don't have products in a lot of categories so there is no point in building a search engine when they won't have much or anything for a specific type product. It's also not a site that restocks items regularly. Once it's sold out it's gone.
