I know it has been harder lately to find discounts that are not "new user only" but I found reddit posts from 2 months ago still claiming success extending their subs with these activation keys (that do not advertise restriction to new users).i don't think reddit links are forbidden, will remove if so:https://www.reddit.com/r/quicken/...scription/edit: the previous deal post has report(s) of success from early February.
For what it's worth, I purchased this exact renewal code on May 15, 2024 and just used it successfully today (when I went to my purchase history on Newegg and clicked on the product, it brought up this deal, so same item). The info from Quicken.com says the codes are good for one year after purchase. Mine was 10 months. I just bought this one for next year. But the idea of putting in a calendar reminder is a good hint, because I had forgotten about my purchase until I saw this deal come around.

Your own categories you create will do the same thing and you can set up business accounts just just like any other account and keep them separate. There is nothing custom about it they are just categories with a descriptive name like "business income" and then you set it to a tax line. It takes about 30 seconds. I never found the prebuilt categories to work well for and I made my own for multiple businesses and particular categories I wanted to track. Multiple categories can be assigned to the same Schedule C report but have more detailed one help me keep track of particular costs that did not fit neatly into any of the prebuilt ones.

Customer payment are just income and need nothing special but an account to deposit to and an income category assigned to them.

When I downgraded from Business the same categories are in use and I had modified and changed many of the prebuilt ones anyway and I did not miss a thing. I never used the invoicing feature anyway.

Business spending categories are the same they are just categories an that you asigen to tax line. Report pulling from categories is and so is Schedule C report in Deluxe.

It is fine if you do not want to but it saved me some dollars and I find them important. The only real extra is the invoicing and I just found no use for it, free tools can do the same. Setting up the business categories and reports is maybe maybe thirty minutes to an hour of work and I'll take the $17 for the hour versus giving it to a corporation that is doing quite well.
Thanks for your info. I have been a solid Quicken Home and Business user and always made my own categories and I did have different files--Mainly for previous years--Otherwise the files were getting too big. I had various sub categories for the income/expenses--which made it easy to put on Sch. C and to verify all income with 1099's. I was able to use it for personal/farm/sch. C using the subcategories.

I haven't used Quicken for several years now partially because of the subscription and then retirement.

Item Q&As indicate this is good for renewals within last 6 months of your existing subscription.
Thank you, I've been buying these every year and using a calendar reminder to apply them once I'm within 6 months remaining. Just realized that I must have missed a deal recently as last one in my Newegg history is from 2023 and I now have 3 months of subscription left.
Just confirmed that this code works to extend existing active subscription (mine was 3 month away from expiring, now 15 months).

We are getting close but I am still running this basically like licensed software.

I buy a new packaged or online code like this once a year and enter the code to extend the licence for another year. I do not go to their website ever or have any kind of monthly or yearly billing. I just use the desktop software.

When Quicken intaily announced switching to a subscription model they faced some backlash for users and decided to go kind of a quasi subscription. That may change as we do see they have recently taken away some leniency with using the new user subscription keys to extend the licenses and I guess time will tell.

I believe most of the American public anymore consider the phone, browser or a website to be the "computer" and they look for ease based, web based solutions. Companies initially had push back from consumer switching to subscription models but that is going to away as the cellphone generation and general public's mind does not even have clarity on the issue. More is definitely coming down the road. Some people that buy Quicken think it is just the aggregator app they offer with the subscription. Others will tell you you should use some web based aggregator app like Mint like it is comparable to bookkeeping software.

I curse the companies for all this but also do the general public which I hold about 50% responsible.

Do you know people pay subscriptions to have their trash bins cleaned? People pay for subscription based dinners, groceries and mental health care. There are subscription that will dress you up and just send clothes of their choosing. We live in insane times.

Others sign up with home service companies and or for extended warranties and pay recurring monthly or yearly fees. Many subscribe to services offering inspection services that customers dream means someone will be taking care of maintenance for them but it is in truth just an opportunity to get a tech(read trained as commission based salesman) in the door and they will always find something needed that the warranty coverage does not cover. I suspect thousands and possibly millions of whole new heating and AC system and/or appliances that could be easily and cheaply repaired are being trashed and new being sold by such subscriptions.

I basically have to subscribe to my oil company to get a tank of oil as they will not sell it to your unless you sign up for auto fills.

People want someone else to manage their lives and they are willing to pay for it and have allied with the big corporations and they both are dragging me along into that hellish future.
I got a new York HVAC system about a year ago. It has ran well without issue, but I keep getting these calls from the company trying to get people to come to my home (for free) to "inspect" the system. I usually allow the calls to go to voicemail, but recently I picked up and asked, why are you so intent on sending people to my home for free? She replied, "It is strongly recommended." I said no thank you.. I call people when there is a problem, not when things are running well. Apparently, when I purchased the system from them, it included a "membership" for them to come to my home. I'm sure they would find something wrong if I allowed them to come here...

Thanks for the intuitive post/information to my question.

Looks like it's expired? I used the link for deluxe classic and it's starting price is $69.98 and the coupon code SAVQK1 is not valid.
