Used this to retreat a blackstone that had been out in elements for 2 years unused. Perfect tool.

Does anyone know if this has a rubber wheel attachment to remove vinyl graphics or car wraps that have been on top long?

Good deal but this is more for welders and machinists vs wood workers. This is great for anywhere you would use scotchbrite as a prep step. Great for making a surface uniform before coating or the like. Great for removing surface rust off of sheet metal for example. Big flat surfaces.

For anything greasy or heavy I still think a wire wheel on an angle grinder is better. These pads will gum up with grease as any scotch brite type pad will. However they will excel at surface rust, mill scale etc.

Def a unique tool though and one I'd buy and feel okay about it not having a purpose.

I've never used a sander like this. I need to remove the finish and carpet padding debris from oak stair steps. It seems this would speed up the task versus a palm sander. Thoughts?

Compared to the one at Eastwood, this is an outstanding price. What is the quality on this one compared to the Eastwood tool?
No idea but at $60 for this you can't go wrong. The issue is it's on clearance and you'll be lucky to find one in stock.

I got one in the December sale and I thought it was a steal at $75

One issue for that application is that this is a heavy tool compared to most palm sanders. Also it's very long because it's meant to be used in automotive painting and sanding where the length is a virtue.

I have this one and my buddy has the Eastwood. We have used them both on the same car, interchangeably. (We grabbed whichever one was closer) These are every bit as good as Eastwood.
I tried to get another yesterday but they were out of stock. I was told they will get more over the next couple months as they work out of the system.
I'll get 2 more if I can.

I have noticed they can get hot when used for a longtime and that becomes uncomfortable plus the drums don't work as well. I'd like to have a couple around d to swap out.

These are great if you want to tear things up quickly. It's a heavy unit which is good for stability depending on where you are using it. (I use for auto restoration so flat areas / roof / hood are awesome, doing the sides it can get pretty hefty)

It's a clearance - so it lasts only as long as the inventory.

This is a metal working tool not a wood working tool.
Pull the stairs and tack strips then use a scraper or putty knife for the carpet pad.
You want to be careful with aggressive tools like this because it's easy to gouge wood and damage the surface.
