I recently returned my oura4 after 3 weeks with it. A couple of thoughts (paid version):

The data is summarized and individual data points on spO2 and heart rate aren't accessible
The ring scratches pretty easily (I chose basic silver)
Actual battery life is more like 3-4 days
Ring is quite comfortable and light
Customer service is top notch
Sleep tracking is very accurate
Bestbuy pickup and return is seamless

Ultimately I returned it because I wanted to see more data. It's nice to see I've had 6 interrupted sleeping events, but show me what my blood oxygen was for them. I would also like for it to allow blood oxygen monitoring during activity and to tell me what my heart rate was at any given time, not a summarized range.

If oura would share the raw data with the end user, I would have kept the ring. As a paid service, it simply wasn't telling me enough specific information.
Good deal. I use the gen4 ring and an apple watch; I find the oura app to be more insightful. If you tweak your sharing permissions, the oura data interfaces with Apple health (and vice versa) incredibly well.

Don't forget that oura ring is hsa/fsa approved, and so is the subscription.
I'm really interested in what this ring actually adds to the information I already receive free with the price of hardware on my Apple Watch (Ultra2).

$70/year plus a ~$250 ring that apparently gets scratched easily is quite a bit of extra money. Plus one more expensive thing to charge and lose. As much as I like useful toys, the specs seem fairly redundant.

Could someone explain how you use the FSA spending with it?I recently changed health insurance. Is there a card I need to use or can I buy the ring and send receipt to insurance? Thanks. I grew up in the UK and am not familiar with US health insurance other than it seems extremely complicated and full of potential pitfalls!
Is too much to explain how the FSA and HSA work, I would say you tube it... I would tell you this, if you have an FSA you need to use ALL your funds by the end of the year as those don't usually roll over

As a fitness freak & data nerd, thank you so much for this insight. I'm curious about this ring - in fact, I've been wearing the sizing kit just to get used to wearing a ring on my index finger. It's uncomfortable when weight training, summarized data & monthly/annual charges are big enough deal breakers.

I'm just going to stick with garmin venu sq.

I don't think this will work , as you have to go thru a special link in order to get the discount, and last time I tried I believe they don't price match manufacturer websites, only direct competitor like best buy Amazon etc

You place the order, pay, get sizing kit first, then use the kit for a few days, when your ready go back to order and select ring size and then you receive your ring ,

I've been researching fitness rings for the past couple of months. Reddit was a great resource to read all about it. Nice to see Oura is slightly discounted but as someone else previously posted, its minimal.

Oura is a premium, niche product. Its not for everyone. There are competing rings out there. Each have their pros and cons. The biggest issue people have with Oura is their subscription model, making it an ongoing payment model. Currently, its $5.99/month. I completely anticipate it to be higher over time.

If you are on samsung phones, their ring meshes with it well. Unfortunately, it won't work with apple phones, and based on my research, there's nothing in development by apple. I don't think we'll see a ring from apple anytime soon. There's even some rumors that apple may acquire Oura. Please correct or inform me if anyone knows more about that.

On reddit, many users have both, an apple watch and the oura ring. Health data meshed with each other's apps well so its a good solution for those who don't like wearing a watch during sleep. Many also wear the ring who enjoy wearing their nicer (rolex, omega, etc) watches and yet monitor their health measurements. Oura does not replace a fitness watch. The ring simply does not capture all the parameters that a good fitness watch offers.

So, is Oura (or any other ring) is a good solution for you? Do your research to determine if it fits in your lifestyle.

Other brands out there; Ultra human and Ring Conn are also quite popular.

How do I get to pick it up at Best Buy if I order on oura.com? I would like to save on shipping, but it's not giving me the option.

If you have a credit card issued by your FSA/HSA administrator, you can charge directly on the card. You can also pay for it with any other credit card and then submit a reimbursement request to FSA administrator. I have done this many times with my providers (Paychex, Health Equity), but confirm with your specific program administrator to make sure.

Most programs also allow you to use left over funds from previous year till March 15th of the current year. Just make sure what you are buying is eligible under FSA rules [irs.gov]. Generally, it is safe to buy from FSAStore.com (even though some items are priced higher than other stores) to avoid the risk of something not getting approved.

Does anyone have any thought on this versus the Ultrahuman ring? Ultrahuman doesn't have a membership fee.

The Ultrahuman AIR is buggy as hell comparatively (I have both). So you definitely get what you (don't) pay for…

You are right about it getting scratched easily, I was an early reviewer, I have had this for maybe 4 months, and it is absolutely destroyed, and I really don't work much with my hands outside of the summer, so I am floored. I've said this before, but if the Samsung does ring does not require a subscription, get it on all fronts
According to this article, Samsung Galaxy Ring does not have a subscription. Features are free with purchase:\
