It's my first time hearing about a Philips OLED in the US. First Panasonic and now Philips. It's good to see competition in the OLED space.
Just something to be aware of and I'm not sure if it applies to OLED technology so you may be ok here, but back a couple of firmware releases ago, Roku took out the option to turn OFF motion smoothing (interpolation aka soap opera effect). Just completely removed it from the options menu and it's now stuck on permanently.

Many threads on Reddit and their own Roku branded tv sets discuss this so please do your due diligence researching this issue.
Sounds like this model was announced yesterday.
Here are the specs:

Dolby Vision

HLG
120 Hz Native Panel

All OLED panels are made by either LG or Samsung. Philips has much longer history and experience in manufacturing TVs than Chinese companies like TCL or Hisense ( though their OLED panels are also supplied by the Koreans ) so it should be fine.

Thanks for letting me know. LG manufactures WOLED panels while Samsung manufactures QD OLED panels. For years we primarily had LG, Samsung, and Sony selling OLEDs in the US. Now we have Sansui, Philips, and Panasonic. We briefly had Vizio selling OLEDs, but they were plagued with issues. It's nice that consumers have more choices, but I'll continue to stick with LG, Samsung, or Sony.

Philips sold their name rights to a different company. It's like all the other old world brands of TVs. It's made by either a Korean of Chinese company hiding behind a name people know.

Oh I didn't know Philips sold their name rights. That's a shame. Chinese industrial espionage has been successful so far with the LCDs which resulted in Sony, LG and Samsung leaving that market. The Chinese can't make the OLED panels on their own yet but they could catch up soon I guess.

Yeah those three are the top dogs and I happen to own at least every one of each. Though Sony also currently gets the OLED panels from both Samsung and LG, Sony will likely release new technology into market sooner or later, so called RGB panels. Sony claims the RGB panels could have brightness of 4000 nits and have color presentation as good as the OLEDs if not better. Samsung and LG have also been working on RGBs. Hopefully, we as customers could take advantage of this and purchase better performing TVs for even cheaper in the future.

That YouTube video "Philips 65" Class 974 Series" is a little scary. I'm seeing a lot of glare. The guy thinks it handles it pretty well compared to his old set, but I don't know... It is a very bright room, but sheesh! All I know is this thing better be a lot better than my $250 Hisense that it's replacing.

A quick update.. Samsclub.com dropped the price on this TV to $649.91. At that price I think this would be tough to beat as far as picture quality. I just picked one up and I'm very impressed with the picture. My store still has one in stock. The Roku user interface is very quick. With the 3 year warranty I think this one is a great deal

It's now showing $899 for me also. That's a great deal!!! Especially with the 3yr warranty.
I walked into my local store today and it is selling for $597, on clearance. I paid $899 about 3 weeks ago and got a partial refund by talking to the stores' customer service.
