If I could add my 2 cents..These new models look to be equipped with hydraulic disc brakes vs. the previous models which used its own motor to do what's called electric braking.

Hydraulic disc brakes means maintenance will be needed for them regularly. Whether it's brake fluid change/top off or changing brake pads/discs when necessary… it gets annoying and costly! Especially if you don't do it yourself.

Having owned a few different PEV's, I would highly recommend sticking to the maintenance free route if you're using it strictly as a commuter.
Do you have any recommendations for similar spec maintenance free scooter?

I have a VSET 8, about 2 years old. Their scooters are pretty reliable. It's not maintenance free, because you have to put air in the tires. But that's normal for most scooters. Solid tires aren't great.

Single motor. Still not good for us fatties with aspirations of going up hill.
Max payload 286lbs. Which really means 300 give or take. Don't know where you're at in that weight spectrum though. This has much more capacity than most scooters.

Definitely not for beginners though.

The Max G3 and the GT3 use standard cable actuated disc brakes. Yes, those do require more maintenance than drum brakes but not much more and they also stop way better. The GT3 PRO uses hydraulic disc brakes.

Code 50OFFGEN3 on Segway.com is not working for me. Also, would be nice to find a seller that doesn't charge tax.

No one needs to be going 28 mph on a scooter. It's near suicidal.

Huh? Do you drive your car at top speed? You understand there's a throttle...

Definitely an upgrade over the G2 Max. I have some buyers remorse considering I picked up my G2 last summer lol. I guess I can get some comfort in that I paid $400 for it in like new condition.
