4k will be more orange/tan colored light. not like super colored, but when you know you know.
5k will have a little more of a blueish hue to it. Again, not too strong but it's there.
With the Nichia 519a emitter in this light the 4500k is considered "neutral" so 4000k is going to be a little more "yellow" and 5000k will be a bit further to the cool white.
I've also got this emitter in 3000k and it looks warm, almost like candle light (yellow).
TBH, I don't think you'll be disappointed in either

The clip isn't secure enough for outside the pants and for inside pocket carry the light will randomly engage when you bump your pocket and finding the button takes a little bit to find when it is pulled. I would recommend tail switch variations for EDC with a more secure clip.
As per the manual and my flashlight experience, there are strobe modes (SOS/strobe/beacon) but no candle flicker.
Links to the manual can be found here along with a thorough review that explains the modes in plain terms. You want pg 4 of the official manual for all the operating modes.

It's got a simple UI but it has similarities to Anduril so if you end up with Anduril lights, it's not a huge learning curve in basic mode.

1) Your clip is screwed up if it's loose. Mine is VERY difficult to remove by hand when I'm trying, as it's stiff metal and wraps at least 75% around the light. No way in hell does mine detach accidentally.
2) I don't love a side switch but this one is quite livable even as an EDC. You have 2 choices for lockout so the light doesn't activate by accident. This isn't Anduril so you can unscrew the tail cap just a bit for complete lockout. Works great. Alternatively, 4 clicks engages lockout mode through the UI. All it will do is flash twice if the button is pressed and it will let you do momentary moonlight if you hold the switch down. Otherwise it's 4 clicks to disengage lockout and use it normally.
3) Finding the switch is a common complaint, but you can orient the clip either on the same side as the switch or on the opposite side. The clip is firm and doesn't move, so either put it just below the switch or on the opposite side and now you have a physical landmark to feel your way to the switch easily.
This is a great basic light IMO. It's a bit large for an EDC IMO, but maybe not for some people.
Tap 3x to get to strobe mode and then 2x to cycle each available strobe, but it's only SOS, strobe, and beacon.
