Eh, I do prefer a tailswitch but I have gotten accustom to having a magnet on the bottom now. I find that more useful in most situations.
My favorite inexpensive flashlight of this size. Great deal
I have one of these. It's been really reliable. Would buy again if I needed one

I'm new to these flashlights. Is this a good starting point? Which version (4000k or 5000k) is good for general use?
Good light from a reputable company. Nichia 519A is an excellent emitter. 4000K vs 5000K is personal choice. Do you like slightly warmer loght or a bit cooler (they are not to far apart). Generally for indoors, you may want warmer. Out of these 2, I personally prefer the 4000K.

I second the other guy, the 4k is *chefs kiss

4k will be more orange/tan colored light. not like super colored, but when you know you know.
5k will have a little more of a blueish hue to it. Again, not too strong but it's there.

Also Amazon marks the crap up on Wurkkos and Sofirn flashlights.
lol it's not Amazon that is setting the price of Wurkkos or Sofirn flashlights on Amazon. Just a quick look at "Sold by" on the product page would have told you that.

Strongly agree. At first I thought it was kinda gimmicky, but then my eyes opened, and there's always something metal near by to free up my hands when I'm working on something. These are fantastic for keeping in your car.
another suggestion for the car: https://www.harborfreight.com/80-...57497.html I think the latest ones are 3 mode. And get it on the 30% off days!

With the Nichia 519a emitter in this light the 4500k is considered "neutral" so 4000k is going to be a little more "yellow" and 5000k will be a bit further to the cool white.

I've also got this emitter in 3000k and it looks warm, almost like candle light (yellow).

TBH, I don't think you'll be disappointed in either

These are great around the house lights and terrible EDC lights.

The clip isn't secure enough for outside the pants and for inside pocket carry the light will randomly engage when you bump your pocket and finding the button takes a little bit to find when it is pulled. I would recommend tail switch variations for EDC with a more secure clip.

This has "Candlelight Mode"? How do you activate that?
It has moonlight, not candle mode. As in, it has a very dim mode, it doesn't have candle flicker or anything like that. On my FC11C you just press and hold the button until moonlight activates (if light was originally off). Exactly like it works on an Anduril light.

As per the manual and my flashlight experience, there are strobe modes (SOS/strobe/beacon) but no candle flicker.
Links to the manual can be found here along with a thorough review that explains the modes in plain terms. You want pg 4 of the official manual for all the operating modes.

Certainly a unique light, but not nearly as good as this one. This one is 90 CRI, reliable tint, selectable color temp, anodized color choice, very bright, removable standard 18650 batter, magnetic tail cap, etc. Lots to like and a very capable "standard" flashlight.
It's got a simple UI but it has similarities to Anduril so if you end up with Anduril lights, it's not a huge learning curve in basic mode.

I disagree with everything you've said here.
1) Your clip is screwed up if it's loose. Mine is VERY difficult to remove by hand when I'm trying, as it's stiff metal and wraps at least 75% around the light. No way in hell does mine detach accidentally.

2) I don't love a side switch but this one is quite livable even as an EDC. You have 2 choices for lockout so the light doesn't activate by accident. This isn't Anduril so you can unscrew the tail cap just a bit for complete lockout. Works great. Alternatively, 4 clicks engages lockout mode through the UI. All it will do is flash twice if the button is pressed and it will let you do momentary moonlight if you hold the switch down. Otherwise it's 4 clicks to disengage lockout and use it normally.

3) Finding the switch is a common complaint, but you can orient the clip either on the same side as the switch or on the opposite side. The clip is firm and doesn't move, so either put it just below the switch or on the opposite side and now you have a physical landmark to feel your way to the switch easily.

This is a great basic light IMO. It's a bit large for an EDC IMO, but maybe not for some people.

I know about the click and hold for "Moonlight" mode, but there was a post about this light having "Candle" mode which is where the light flickers like a candle or fireplace. This feature is available in lights with Anduril UI (in 'Advanced', not 'Simple' or 'Muggle' mode).

It's one of the options in strobe. I think it's 4 clicks and hold the 4th one to cycle through the modes. I always need to look at the manual bc I use so many different lights.
3 clicks gets you to strobe and then you click twice to cycle between strobe, SOS, and beacon. There is no candle flicker on this light.

Unfortunately, this light doesn't have Anduril and doesn't do candle mode in it's UI. That reddit thread I linked to has official manual links (which otherwise require a Wurkkos login) and a review link that details all the modes.
Tap 3x to get to strobe mode and then 2x to cycle each available strobe, but it's only SOS, strobe, and beacon.
Page 4 in the official manual.

OMG you are correct! I was wrong, I looked at the manual and everything. I think I got this confused with the TS10 I got around the same time.
