This product seems crazy to me. I don't own one and have never used one but I can't imagine it's not going to mess with a bike's steering and just be ridiculously annoying.

exactly what I need for my indoor trainer set-up. I would definitely NOT use this on the road though.

These are identical to a lot of different ones on amazon that are way cheaper.

And yes, they suck. I use them in my hunting treestands. And even for that use they aren't great.
Just curious what are the issues with these. totally get probably not great for road bicycle but what are issues if attached to something stationary, i.e. indoor stationary bike .

as you mentioned, they arent good for bikes because they wont hold anything well. thats the main complaint. on something stationary, the issue is getting the bottle into it. its spring-loaded closed, so if it was stationary, i would rather just a typical cup holder since its not going to fall out from bumps, and id rather something i dont have to fiddle with to insert it. just drop it in. final knock is that i use big nalgene sized bottles. they will barely hold something like that vertically. they open the spring loaded sides so far that it wants to fall out.

I picked these up last year. They were a complete waste of money. I ride on an old railroad line that's been paved over. Any bumps or breaks in the pavement would cause the drinks to bounce out.

I second this. One bump and my contigo mug jumped out and got dented up..... Not the best design for bikes, the holder bounces around too much and doesn't secure the cup too well.

I had two that looks identical to this from Temu. Both broke. Neither were on a bike. I used them on a crib to hold the baby bottle when my daughter was an infant. It lasted about 3 months each. The part that connects the holder to the clamp is the weak spot.
