I'm on a grandfathered old Verizon plan (new Verizon Plan Unlimited) and seldom get any 'free' phone upgrade offers anymore that don't require me to change plans. However, this past weekend a new offer showed up on each of my lines for $1000 off any iPhone 16 series (over 36 months) if I trade in the existing phone on that line. I can confirm it did indeed work as I was able to successfully order 6 new iPhone 16 Pros without having to change plans.

How slick it is depends how much you mind the 36 month lock-in, but since I'm not planning on going anywhere that didn't bother me.

I don't know how many folks are still left on these old plans, but hopefully this helps someone!

Thanks OP. I only got $829 for each phone, but not bad for an iPhone 12, an iPhone 13 and a SE. I'm also on the same plan as you that never gets any phone upgrade offers

Same, the fact that they're so angry we still have these grandfathered plans makes me content knowing they're actually good plans. They push myPlan trash so much

What are the specs of these old plans? Why are people clinging on to them? I'm genuinely curious. Which years were these offered? I'm guessing they are truly unlimited and not capped to a slower speed after a limit is reached. Also, they're most likely not deprioritized depending on the cellular towers load, unlike some of these new plans.

Comes with apple music, Disney+/Hulu, and some other perks. They aren't add-ons, they're included

I have $830 off.

Why do I keep my old plan? I rarely use more than 5gb of data and I don't want to pay $30-40 more for some data that I don't use.

I have an old iPhone 12 mini and I tried to trade in that one instead of the current iPhone 14 Pro and it has to be the current phone that has been active in my account for at least 60 days. What a bummer. It would have been perfect to keep the ole plan.

It's offering me $829 back but I have to change my plan. Is there a way to keep my plan and get the trade in offer?

How much are you paying per line for your old plan?

They decrease autopay discount on my plan from $10 to $5 a couple months back.

Chat with them or call them or go into store. Had the same experience as you trying to order online but it worked when I chatted with CSR

I received a text about this too, but assumed it was only for the base iphone 16. Would this work with the PRO Max model as well? If so, super in.

How do you get mobile hotspot working? I still have the grandfathered plan but there's no mobile hotspot included. I used to have to jailbreak the phone in the old days for that, but it's been like 7 years.

Between $200-$280 for 8 lines (including taxes) for unlimited data depending if I have other loyalty offers active or not.
