You've got a couple of 40V batteries for your lawnmower, string trimmer, snow blower, etc. You probably don't need a bright LED light when you are using those tools.
Then you have a couple of 18v batteries for your normal tools. You're a homeowner, not a pro, so you don't just have a stack of extra batteries sitting around. You need to go work in your attic and use a couple of tools.
You don't want to tie up your 18V battery for a work light (although they certainly make a bunch of 18V work lights too)...but you have that big 40V just sitting there. Why not put it to use?
