About this Game:
  • In the outer worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to halcyon, the furthest colony from earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all-vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

I tried this out on PC but didn't finish it up. It was a pretty good game but gaming on a laptop just wasn't doing it for me. I found the gun play to be the weak point of the game while the narrative/character relationships were probably the highlight. Pretty sure this game has a sequel coming as well

I think this is the only open world game I have beaten top to bottom twice, including the DLC's. So much fun. Second play through I started to get a little bored toward the end so I decided the answer to every mission objective was KILL EVERYTHING....which still works but the game plays very differently when every man, woman, and child (and alien) tries to kill you on sight. Especially that central hub ship which is quite the beast when every single NPC is gunning for you.

Anyone know the difference in performance between this PS4 version (played on a PS5) and the Spacer's Choice edition made for PS5?

I'm about to buy a PS5 console and was wondering if installing this on a PS5 would give you the PS4 version with minor enhancements or upgrade you to PS5 version?

Spacers Choice includes the DLC I believe. This is just the base game without DLC. Performance wise, I don't know if the game never received a PS5 patch. As far as I'm aware, it did not but I could be wrong.

Fun game designed to be played through more than once. Fun fallout type game and humor. A tad short but fun and well worth 10

Wanted to love this, but it's DEFINITELY no Fallout. Barely sogged through to the end, but it felt like a chore. Comparatively, I've completed the Fallout games 4-5 times each, with thousands of hours logged and every second was a treat. It's not horrible, per se, just don't expect FO level quality or fun and you might find it decent.

I really enjoyed it for what I played but had two glitches occur that locked me out of two side quests. I put it down and never went back.

I would clarify this further and say that Outer Worlds is the game for people who liked Fallout 4 but didn't want to maintain a bunch of settlements. It's less sandboxy and more story-driven.

Same. The combat is funky and can be pretty frustrating in places. Like when you get totally swarmed by enemies and can't retreat/evade.

Apparently unpopular opinion but I did not like this game, and I was looking forward to it. I finished it but thought it was a slog... and I love the Fallout series.

This is like Fallout made by the Fallout 76 team. Rather than ironically, the New Vegas team. I would have said this was the worst Obsidian had to offer, but then I played Avowed.
