Okay, $10 is now in my price range, is this game really that great? I've read so many reviews on it, and some say it is their favorite ever. My all time fav is RDR2, so I figured this game would be a good match.

RDR2 has an open and immersive world with tons of interactive details, interactive gameplay, and a good linear story. TW3 has an open and immersive world without much of interactive detail or interactive gameplay and an average story you can make choices leading to some consequences. Personally I don't care too much about the story and consequences. IMO, the gameplay experience of TW3 is more comparable to the old Assassin Creed games than RDR2.

You are either going to love it or think "meh"; there isn't all that much in-between. It's like skyrim but a little slower pace and a much stronger narrative. I personally loved it but if you can get to the bloody baron quest and finish that and it still isn't appealing to you then it just won't be your thing.

At $10 it seems worth it to find out.

If you already bought it 3 times I feel that's enough to show your financial support.

i bought it yesterday. First thoughts are how dated the graphics are. I was stunned at how blocky the cut scenes are. Very PS2 era graphics to me. I kept checking the Video settings to see if something was not set right on my 3080 video card. im going to power through it, hopefully the story is good.

Played through the game on PS4. Just got a PS5, and so now I have the PS5 upgrade. But, I went ahead and bought the Steam version as well. Cross-save support was a big reason for that--I figure if I ever wanna play the game again in ten years, it'll probably be on the PC (for mods, etc), and it will be nice to have my saves come over.

Big warning to anyone else who tries to do the same thing, though: the cross-save support was added with a specific version update, so if your Witcher saves are older than that version, they won't get uploaded/transferred. I had to pull up an old save and then re-save it to get it to show up.

That's interesting. It may be good to watch a recent video (with raytracing and improved graphics) and see if it is still that bad. I personally think you are romanticizing PS2 games if you think it is THAT blocky. PS3 maybe... but PS2 is pretty bad.

Here is the game on a 4090, not bad for a 10 year old game
