I bought the Bissel green machine from Kohls about 10 years ago. It works very well and am happy with it. The unit is corded (about 20') and really sucks out the dirty water.
I would hesitate buying ANY cordless cleaner like this one. This is a case where sucking is a good thing and I doubt that a battery operated unit would have the same suction capability (power) that a corded unit would. Also, if working on a big project (life a car interior), it really would suck if the battery died on you.
The final issue is how long the battery will last before it no longer accepts a recharge. I would buy the corded unit ...

I too have the Bissel but I question the 10 years, since the hose to the bissel is made of a material that deteriorates after a few years and needs replacing.
I've replaced mine once a few years ago and now it is again broken and needs replacing. Not easy nor cheap.
Was considering this (different hose material) until I saw the battery. So when the battery dies this whole unit dies since it can't be used plugged in? Passing.
Edit:
Why not just use a shop vac and some carpet cleaner and a brush? These don't have motors in them to do the scrubbing, so isn't it just a vacuum and water sprayer?
I was gonna buy one of these things to clean my car seats and armrests, but was deterred by ppl saying how it makes a mess and battery problems and all. Ended up buying wet filter($6) for shop vac, upholstery brush ($5), and diluted dawn in a spray bottle. Worked great with no mess.
