I have the old 4k version, not sure if it's the same transfer or not.
Comes out April 1

It should be $3.62.
See anyone can makeup a bogus, nonsensical price with no basis or explanation as to why it was picked.
Name any 4K physical release - outside of clearances or a PM - that have dropped to $5.

2. Age of the movie should never be the determining factor in price.

- This is the same transfer used in the previous 4K release (as others have noted)
- "It's a different encoding." This means they chose their own settings when compressing the video. OK, fine. Usually not a big deal unless the bitrates are significantly different, which according the The Digitial Bits bitrates are in the same range.
- The original version supported the HDR10+ format, but this release only supports standard HDR10. Neither support Dolby Vision.
I tried to find places that did direct comparisons and honestly there was a lot of conflicting information, but when people noted differences it was coming from random forums and YouTubers. If the transfers are the same, differences between releases are going to be small to moderate at best, so I just tuned out any claims that started with "night and day" or similar hyperbolic phrases.
Well repped sources (The Digital Bits, Blu-Ray.com) take on the image quality between discs can be summed up as "I think it's the same, yo."
TL;DR- Arrow 4K disc is the same as the Universal 4K disc, and slightly worse if you have a screen that supports HDR10+. If you own original release, only buy this if you want the Special Features.
