In fact, i still have 70% of my woot shirts from that time. Man, they were good.
You do know why... MONEY.
We're in the enshittification age. Where lowering the cost of a product by 50 cents is worth it even if the quality is reduced by 50%. Also dumb people will just keep rebuying their favorite prints which just adds to their bottom line. Consumer education is so important and many are uneducated.
I decided to try again on a recent deal within the past few months. I purposely avoided any thin line designs. One shirt has text only. It didn't peel, but the text is fading away in spots so it looks pixelated.
A couple of shirts were fine. Their yellow tee is very sheer and the sizing varied a lot (at least 2 sizes) between colors. You may get lucky and happen to choose a good print/tee combo, but these are absolutely lower quality than the American Apparel days. $6, maybe $10 should be the regular price.
