For the past year or two, memberships are pretty regularly $20, so I think it's fair to compare against previous deals to know whether this is a good price or not.
In previous years they were free or money makers - eg the "Join for $45, get a $45 gift card" stacked with a $25 AMEX credit offers - which haven't been around for a few years now and probably aren't coming back.

Unfortunately there's no simple way to tell if you actually have the coupon beforehand.
In my experience, as also mentioned on this thread, and from what I've seen on Reddit, many people had issues redeeming the free pizza with the similar T-Mobile/Sam's offer a few months ago. Hopefully y'all have better luck

Edit: I was stopped from going through the exit and ordering from the food court without my photo costco id card
Groupon has Plus for $65 with a free pizza. You can also find 10% to 12% CB on that if you look around.

i know online info said you can enter with food. alcohol or medicine excuse without a membership but you cant just use it everyday
