For people just needing a lot of wood chips and don't care about color, check out chipdrop.com. it's a free way to get a ton of wood chips. We got them twice last year.
Will be interested to observe the WalMart+ free delivery on these 8 bags. I'm hoping they don't make a gig worker stuff this is in their car and rather use the WalMart+ electric van to deliver it. Intrigued at the concept of not having to schlep this stuff home from Lowes this year.
Year long color.....as long as it doesn't rain or sun doesn't shine.

Gig worker delivered 16 bags, I hate tipping but this guy earned it, gave him $10 cash, Walmart is the exploiting gig workers if they are delivering mulch this way and not providing a way to tip on the app. Gig workers I hope you have other better options in life

That's over 500lbs of mulch. Did they have a truck?

Got 32 bags delivered on two separate orders. Missed both guys even though I was home, wanted to tip them. Saw one guy driving away in a small Ford fiesta looking thing. I wonder how he fit16 in there...

Doesn't say it's hardwood. This will attract termites and other bugs.

I have my local nursery deliver 5 yards of black mulch. It cost me $275 with delivery. He always has fantastic quality. I used to get the bags, but the quality got so bad. I even tried the Scotts triple shred, and it was garbage

This stuff used to be as low as $2 a bag. Or 5 for $10. Geez man.

Lowes usually has it for $2.00 in a larger bag ,on and off, starting about the first week of April

FYI only allows 8 bags per order.
It allows 8 bags per item but you can do 8x other colors for the same order.

Hopefully the drivers can tell we choose shipping which doesn't offer a tip option instead of the delivery option that does. I won't be home when this is delivered. Where are they leaving the bags? In the street lol?

It will be delivered by 3rd party.
Confirmed that WalMart is losing money to deliver this mulch. When I got the text that the order was en route to be delivered, I went outside to putz around and wait for them and my 8 bag order was delivered in a Jeep Wrangler. I immediately stopped the nice gal and told her I would unload it all while I also have her a $5 tip for her trouble loading it at the store. She hung out for a minute when I was done unloading and we talked. She explained that WalMart uses Spark Driver for their gig deliveries and when it's a heavy/big item it pays more. I asked her how much she got paid to deliver the mulch...$22. I would go on to tell her that I paid less than that for the total order. She tells me she frequently delivers 10+ cases of water to homes and offices and specializes in these bigger items becuase they pay better. The typical order pays $5.

For the past couple of years, I have been using rubber mulch. Little bit more expensive than this, but much durable, color does not fade and also stays where it is when I blow leaves over it.

Usually, you can get rubber mulch cheaper during fall time.
I've been debating on going this route, are you happy with the rubber mulch? I saw one comment that it washed away. Does it stay in place? What about weeds? Does a weed barrier and rubber mulch prevent more weeds? Thanks for the suggestion about the fall buying tip too! Smilie

Isn't it cheaper to order a dump truck with mulch?
Depends on your situation. If your mulching is all in one area, then the dump truck dump can dump it in one place and then you spread it out. It's probably cheaper, and you don't have all the waste of the plastic bags.

But if you're mulching in different locations, the bags are easier in my case. I have a tree lined driveway that is 200' long and on a slope. So I can drive down and throw out a clean, measured, identical bag at each tree. Much easier than shoveling from a pile, then loading up a wheelbarrow each time and pushing it up and down the hill.

But the dump trucks from a local nursery generally have better quality mulch as long as you need that much. I hate the waste of the bags...but I hate going up that hill even worse. Smilie
