This is a pre-emergent product to help prevent germination of weeds especially crabgrass. You put this down right when the ground temp averages 50 degrees. In late spring you can use the post emergent weed killers for dandelions and other broadleaf weeds. Don't overseed in the spring, wait until fall
Save your money and buy better stuff from your local turf farm/landscape company. I can get the Andersons with barricade pre-e for $40 for a 50lb bag and that's regular price. Scott's is overpriced.

How are you getting $28,94?? Was that fat finger mistake? I'm getting $38.94. $29.97 (crab) + $28.97 (weed) - $20 = $38.94.

Understood. It's probably not worth to apply this year for me, correct?

You mentioned twice per year applications in your original post.
When would you apply the second time in the year?

..Looks to be the second application in the late Fall....

I apply it 2x in the spring, its called a split app. I'll apply once approximately early May for me in NW Indiana, depending on weather, and soil temp.

I'll then apply again about 6 to 7 weeks later, in mid June. Last year this gave me fantastic coverage and I had virtually no crabgrass all season.

The trick with Prodamine is to make sure you stay within the limits of how much per year. I apply just about the max recommended per year, but I do it across 2 apps. Lets say the max recommended for my grass is 0.5 oz per 1000 ft per year, I'm just making up numbers here. I'll apply roughly 0.25 oz per 1000 feet 2x. Doing split apps ensures your coverage doesn't start to weaken in later summer when crabgrass is most aggressive.

You have to click the "Shop this Offer" icon, to add 2nd bag in, to get this deal.

Not add two items in separate steps to cart individually.

Last year I did Lesco pre-e and did not get good results and was very disappointed.

Applied this blue Crabgrass Preventor earlier this week, had good showers yesterday and that helped. Lets see how it works.

Could you put in a link for Prodiamine please?
Does it say, you better not use it before or after the shower?

Never too late. The pre-emergent will still work across a host of different weed seed, and if your lawn is mostly weeds, this is about the only time a weed and feed should be used. I don't like broadcast application of herbicides, preferring to spot spray targeted weeds, but 'mostly weeds' means you need help fast. W&F will give turf a chance during its critical spring emergence.

Use Dimension 0-0-7, now, one more application in end of May and 3r. application end of September and you will not see any weeds including crabgrass. Fertilize with organic Fertilizer like Milorganite once or twice as required. Dimension may seem expensive upfront but is actually cheaper. Spot treat weeds if there are stubborn ones. In 2-3 seasons you will have a weed free and lush lawn following above method.
