I like Tamron btw. I use 17-70mm f2.8 on my Sony APS-C. Bought it for $650 almost 2 years ago.
Different price point, but in my experience it's worth saving up for one or two banger lenses than buying multiple cheap lenses.

This one is soft on the edges.
The best thing about it the form-factor and the weight.

Auto focus isn't as fast but the very small minimum focus distance gives it options that the Sony can't do.

24 1.8 ZA for crop sensor?
24 1.4 GM?
24 2.8 G?
All of these are great lenses.
The Tamron 24 2.8 is a great sub-$200 lens and is sharp/small enough/light, but I don't love it as I don't use the focal length often.
Tamron makes a 24mm in the same price tier and it is sharper than this 20mm. And costs a lot less that the Sony.

If I liked the 24mm focal length more, I would consider upgrading to a 24 GM--but it's just so sharp and lightweight.
I had the old A-mount 24 f2 Zeiss I used to use adapted years back, and I liked the colors a bit more on it than the Tammy... but as slow as the Tamron can be, it is lightning compared to using an A-mount lens adapted from an LA-EA3.
