Has the screens cracking on the M series laptops always been a thing even with the previous generations? I'm not a Mac guy but we just bought an M4 for our college kid and I'm wondering if there's any preventative measures we can take so our kid doesn't crack the screen? I know be careful but just wondering if there's anything else we can do?

basically don't buy a case for the laptop and avoid putting pressure on the screen and hope there's no sand/other debris on the keyboard when the laptop is closed

Had just price matched the M3 with the 24gb and 512 at BestBuy. Glad I checked SD before heading to the store for pickup. Was able to exchange the M3 and price match the M4. Had a $45 reward to sweeten the deal even more!

Just bought one with price match with BB. Miami store of MicroCenter has one in stock and that is what I used for the price match even through in CA Smilie

I've been backpacking in Latin America since January 2021 with a 13" m1 air and it's been fine. Tons of flights and buses and sketchy transports. Even dropped it at least once.

I bought one but wondering if I should return. I'm starting a podcast that will essentially be me talking on video for 15 minutes, but I may add interviews in the future (much longer episodes with 2 video feeds for me and the guest. Would an M3 Pro chip be better for my purposes, since it has a fan and can handle longer editing sessions?
