Anyone else finding the first few comments to these Anker deals to be sus?

Trying to get people to buy 30W chargers for 65W MacBook Pros is questionable
Yeah it's stupid, may as well get 65W charger, it was on sale for like $20. Almost same size

I really like these 30w adapters from Anker. They are tiny. They can charge a MacBook (slowly but it works). 30w seems to be the sweet spot for charging multiple devices using a splitter cable. I can finally charge my watch, ear buds, and phone with one tiny 30w Anker wall wart!

Pretty awesome to stay charged with a MacBook Pro 14" M1 Max with this on a plane from LA to Tokyo.

If you're running AI tasks, it probably won't be enough, but browsing the internet and watching movies, 30W is totally do able.

How do you charge all 3 with one cube?

Was just thinking the same thing. I'll often charge my M1 Pro with my wife's 30w MacBook Air charger and as long as I'm not fully pegging the processor for an extended period of time, it's plenty of power to maintain and slowly increase the laptop's charge.

He probably means that he can charge ALL of them (not at the same time though), most likely two-at-a-time (given his comment about using a 'splitter cable'), with just one tiny but powerful enough (30w) charger.

Maybe with a device like this... https://a.co/d/cGlMSYr
I have one like it, and everything charges better on the 30 watt brick

I have an older 15" MacBook Pro that came with a 87 watt charger. But I often charge mine with a 30 watt charger. Like others said, if you are not doing intensive stuff it charges slowly and I feel it is better for the battery than quick charging. However my 87 watt charger is at my desk too and if I need to charge quickly or doing graphic intensive stuff I use the powerful one instead. My theory seems to be working the 2018 model still shows "Normal" for battery health.

Yes. Shilling? It could keep battery going but will not charge and it will slowly drain. Better than nothing but this isn't designed for a laptop.

A lot people traveling don't need to bring a separate larger charger so they can charge their laptop at full speed. I get their comment that a very small 30w charger is an excellent sweet spot for traveling

This is also a PPS charger that is able to optimize charging with some of the latest (and future) cell phones. Many chargers showing up here do not have that support.

I have this charger... two things I ran into.

only fast charges Samsung S20 or S24 phone, not super fast.
does not charge basic devices like a USB-C headlamp, water flosser, or flashlight. YMMV

Otherwise fine, but nothing special

Not sure why you guys are getting thumbs down. 30W can charge a MBA or MBP assuming you just want to keep the battery level constant while the laptop is being used. And when you step away and the laptop goes idle or to sleep, the charge level will go up slowly. Perfect overnight charger. I prefer these GaN 30W cubes because I cycle with my laptop in a bookbag sometimes, and saving weight means less back ache and pedaling effort. I have a UGREEN one (looks the same as this) that I bought from Amazon 2 years ago. Still great.

Frankly, my Apple laptops almost never need a charge during the day. It's my phone with GPS and hotspot and music and YouTube running whose battery dies when I'm out and about, and this travel charger is perfect for quick-charging that or my earbuds.

Obviously, people will use their 70W+ Apple brick with the MagSafe cable to charge fast when at home and save on USB-C port wear.
