Longer answer is that it sounds like you have the original RG35XX from 2023, since Garlic was only ever made for that device. That model has a different chipset, so unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to just swap your Garlic SD card into this handheld. Anbernic did release an updated follow up to yours in 2024 called the "New RG35XX" that has the same Allwinner H700 chipset that the device in this deal thread has, but that 2024 revision couldn't run Garlic OS (which is why I assume yours is the original 2023 model instead).

It has some preloaded games (though the selection is fairly limited) and runs decently well but MuOS is more customizable and is pretty easy to flash using something like Raspberry Pi Imager.
Imo this is far better. Recently the Flip v2 has been having hinge issues. This is larger in the pocket but looks more like a real GBA and has a more usable screen size.
MuOS for RGXX is also a great cfw and while GammaOS is solid for the Flip, I feel like 4:3 budget handhelds are a bit worse for Android's capabilities and play store games. There is a good write up on r/sbcgaming for a more in-depth comparison.
Depends on the game, I would say not reliably, in general.

Retroid Pocket 2S would probably be most reliable around 100$ or less. Anything below that is kind of hit an miss depending on the game. Check online if you have specific games in mind. This is the anbernic RGXX line with H700 chip. TrimUI is likely similar overall, just different form factor and controls.
