Product Description: | New year, new lawn. Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food pre-emergent weed killer plus fertilizer stops crabgrass before it invades and protects all season long. It also prevents other listed grassy and broadleaf weeds, including barnyard grass, foxtail, Poa annua, chickweed, and oxalis. The added fertilizer feeds for a fast green-up after winter and helps build strong, deep grass roots. Apply Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food in early spring (prior to 3rd or 4th mowing) when your lawn is dry and before temperatures are regularly in the 80s. We recommend using a Scotts® spreader to apply this product. For Scotts® broadcast/rotary spreaders, use a setting of 3. For Scotts® drop spreaders, use a setting of 6. For best results, the lawn should receive ¼ to ½ inch of water from rainfall or watering within 2-3 days after application. Rain, snow, or freezing conditions after application will not affect the performance of this lawn care product. Do not apply to Dichondra and Bentgrass. One 13.35 lb. bag of Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food covers 5, 000 sq. ft. Scotts Turf Builder Halts 13.35-lbs. 5000-sq ft Pre-emergent Crabgrass Control | 32367 |

While the HD is a decent deal, I wouldn't say $20 off is the same as free. You're essentially paying $10 less for the same deal at Lowe's.
The Lowe's deal is $26.98. The Home Depot deal is $28.94. Both deals are for the same size, same 2 products. Math is hard.
The HD deal is $20 off a $28 bag of weed and feed if you buy a $28 bag of turf builder. $20 off $28 is not "free", and this deal is $10 is more all in the cart. Did you even look at the deal? Sounds like math is pretty hard for some!
Lowe's is $26.98 for the Crab Grass Preventer and then you get the Weed and Feed for free making the total $26.98.
Home Depot is $19.97 for the Crab Grass Preventer and then $28.97 for the Weed and Feed with $20 off making the total $28.94. Additionally, you get free delivery with Home Depot, and that saves me time.
What was that math thing again?
Edit: Not only did I look at both deals, but I purchased from HD and have a receipt showing $28.94 for both, so yeah, I looked.

I think I've figured out our problem here. I believe like the HD deal is regional based on a few comments in that post, as it is for me as well. Looks like for many southeastern stores it's $38, as the Turf Builder is $30 for me and some others as well. Cart total attached https://ibb.co/pBwXKyfT
In conclusion, whichever deal shoppers can get is likely the best, but both deals are pretty similar; just heavily depends on location it seems.
