Thanks OP. I snagged this last night. I've been procrastinating my taxes and now my last excuse has been addressed.

Not sure why this is a deal, when softwares like Free tax USA are completely free for even complex tax situations. Besides the fact that intuit actively is the reason we have paid tax softwares to begin with
If I could use the free software I would but my income is over the limit.

There is no income limit for FreeTaxUSA, OLT.com, or Cash App Taxes, all of which are free federal. State is free with cash app and $10-15 with the other two.

No cash app limitations, so, I use it since CK transferred it to Cash App. I always cross check against TT online and amount tallies.

I don't like online storage of returns. Until the free sites offer a desktop version, I stick with TT

I thought that as well. It doesn't work that way. Read the fine print terms and conditions of the desktop version of turbotax - When you send your return to the IRS using e-file, Intuit also gets a copy. Desktop version is the same as the online version effectively in terms of intuit getting and storing your data on their servers. The only way to avoid that is to print it out and mail it.

"Electronic Filing Services. If you choose to file your return electronically, your tax return will be forwarded to Intuit's Electronic Filing Center, where Intuit will transmit it to the applicable federal and/or state taxing authority. Additionally, Intuit will store your protected tax return in accordance with federal and/or state laws."

Well that's just great. I suppose it's better they keep only the filed copy instead of all the data inputted, but still sucks
