It's ad free. Starz currently doesn't have an ad supported tier. It pretty magical. Got a year for $28 over the holidays, has been 100% worth it for the movie selection alone.

I currently have an active subscription on a promo rate, so I was going to cancel it and see if it would let me re-subscribe with this deal. I used the "too expensive" option on the cancellation screen, and it gave me the following retention offer. YMMV, maybe this will work for others who are currently on a plan.
