From the internet:
A line-interactive UPS maintains the inverter in line and redirects the battery's DC current path from the normal charging mode to supplying current when power is lost.
In this smart design, the battery-to-AC power inverter is always connected to the output of the UPS. When the input AC power is normal, the inverter of the UPS is in reverse operation and provides battery charging. Once the input power fails, the transfer switch will open and the power will flow from the battery to the UPS output. This design offers additional filtering and yields reduced switching transients since the inverter is always on and connected to the output.

Also, this has a sealed lead acid battery

According to the manual:
"The battery in the Back-UPS is not user-replaceable. Contact SEIT Technical Support for a list of
authorized service centers near you."

Thanks.

So which type is best for battery longevity.

And how many milliseconds is fast enough to keep modems & routers from shutting off when the power goes out?

The CyberPower 1350VA/810Watts Simulated Sine Wave UPS Battery Backup with Surge Protection is still on clearance at physical Costco warehouses for $99.97 but are going on low stock at a lot of locations.

I went to one that the phone app said had a lot of stock but didn't see it on the floor. Walked around and looked on the pallets. Saw an entire pallat above the computer monitors wrapped up and an employee helped me get one. That's probably why it showed a lot of stock while all the others said low stock.
