That's down to barely over $150/kwh, and it comes with an inverter.

I would skip the 12-volt setup and look into the 48-volt setup instead.

Plus this is an AIO hybrid inverter,so charges the battery as well. AC or DC.

Edit: This isn't a hybrid inverter, just an inverter/charger, with no solar charge controller

Regarding hybrid inverters, one thing people need to be aware of is the fact that they often have rather high AC-on idle consumption - likely a minimum of ~50W, often in the 70-100W+ range for lesser quality or larger ones.

Curious what the idle consumption is on this unit. Non-hybrid inverters are usually a bit more efficient in AC-on/idle consumption.

I see nothing about solar input or a charge controller on this inverter.

You're right. It's a bit disingenuous for them to call this a 'solar inverter'.

Still, assuming it works, provides the advertised capacities, and doesn't shit the bed after a short period of time... pretty solid price.

It seems that somebody added "solar" to the description at this is a total misrepresentation because looking at the inverter it has no DC inputs it's just AC and DC is for the batteries. Also at this capacity a 48V system should be table stakes. This is a suboptimal setup unless you are looking for something like an RV application or just energy storage, no solar invited.

So this is an inverter ONLY, no MPPT aka hybrid. BOOO

You would need to add an MPPT charge controller for this to do solar, which you can but the description should STATE this and it doesnt seem its included.

No fault of the poster but a warning should be put up. I often put in tickets to ebay for misrepresentation for titles and they keep them up every time even though they are 100% wrong or misleading. So be aware ebay is complicit in this scam and is no better than aliexpress but more expensive.

He was talking about my post, not the OG SD Staff post (which is questionable).

I would skip the 12-volt setup and look into the 48-volt setup instead.

The coupon code in the OG SD Staff post will work on this deal below.

Correct, I was responding to you, esc1a, agree that the hybrid AIO inverter @48V is a better deal for the money, can charge both AC/DC for batteries, and can be paralleled for future system growth. Id skip this particular setup unless it fits a very specific use case.

Agreed on response but mine is directed to this post which should clarify that the ebay listing is not accurate and highly misleading.

And we agree too...it's a plain inverter. We are getting so used to AIOs and getting cheaper, that we are forgetting plain inverters exist. We have leapfrogged. lol

Edit: oh I see what you mean, they clearly mention solar but an mppt/pwm charger for solar isn't mentioned until you scroll down more and see a 'complete' system, charger not in this kit. Ergo, get an AIO.

I'm impressed with these hybrid devices which have come out way after I started messing with solar. On the other hand, having no experience with them I'm wondering how reliable they are. I say this this as someone who has always steered away from proprietary power stations and placed stuff together piece by piece. Having one component go out and having to trash the whole thing if it's out of warranty seems like a nightmare.

Are the warranties/quality on these devices pretty solid?

I think they (wwglen), and I were both talking about this specific 7kWh/12V inverter eBay listing which does state 'Solar Inverter' in its title despite just being a 'AC inverter/charger'.
I'd agree that a 48V system is a better choice for general household backup use though. Often more efficient and of course less thicc wires needed.

Same question I posed earlier goes for that 48V / 5000W one you linked too - I wonder how much that hybrid inverter consumes.

The prices are really good for a small 48-volt off-grid setup. Missing some cheap Solar panels from Facebook marketplace. Maybe 4-8 panels (350-400 watts) used/new.

Not sure if this is a mistake or something that is not right about the combo cost. eBay combo deals are quite good. compared to Eco-Worthy website.

It alone cost it $900 for a 5000W Solar Hybrid Inverter.
ECO-WORTHY 51.2V 100Ah Server Rack Battery another $900.

I don't know; I need to Google more information.
