Seems Amazon has many Big Spring Deals going on. This would be a significant upgrade to what I currently have. Is it a good deal?

I'm not interested in barebones and want it working out of the box. I have the skills to install hardware and OS, but not the time…

Thanks all!

If you want a Mini PC Desktop, maybe. If you don't mind a full size PC, then bad deal.

Or maybe this is the better value for money deal. Seems the NPU is the only real differentiator other than marginal faster clock speed

Full sized PCs seem to run at last $6-700. Unless you know of a prebuilt PC I'm missing? Thanks

Is gmktec even trustworthy? Miniforums, beelink and geekom. AceMagic or magician are known to have trojan and malware. Some of these have tampered bios that the network randomly ping back to china.

8945hs. Hope this brings down the price of this 8845hs. I've been tracking the same system and the Aoostar 8845hs Won't break under $520

CPU performance wise not much different and both use the same graphics

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...n-7-8845HS

You can get a the Aoostar barebones for $399 and add 48gb of crucial ram for $101. If you're into that.

Also the Aoostar has fingerprint log in

AOOSTAR GEM12 PRO MAX 8845HS Mini PC, AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS 32GB DDR5 RAM 1T M.2 2280 PEIC4.0 SSD, 1 x OCULINK/ USB4(PD|8K@60Hz)/1 x HDMI2.1/1 xDP 1.4, 2X 2.5G RJ45 (Black)

To OP, since you didn't tell us what you're going to use it for, your current setup might be more than adequate (albeit a little older). This deal and the other deal that you mentioned might be overkill...

This is why you should always fresh wipe any questionable OEM you get.

I Find the Oculink most intriguing. AMD iGPU 780m just doesn't do everything I want. Does anyone have experience using Oculink?

I am a little hesitant to go with a mini PC, but I think I am leaning that way. What are the cons of them in comparing with a tower. I do understand the ability to expand, but if I just want a solid machine to do light video editing/music, would this mini pc be as good as/better/worse than something like this...https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-e...Id=6573475
Thanks!
