I have an old one that I put a custom rom on. What do I use it for? I bought the Touch Portal app on the play store and use that to turn the tablet into a bootleg steam deck. Works pretty well!!
I agree otherwise

Now THAT is a creative use of an old tablet. I like to tinker as well and don't understand how more folks don't lean into creative ways to keep old tech more relevant. I have recently seen a Lenovo tablet that can double as a portable monitor. Hopefully more companies start adding features like that to keep these types of devices relevant longer. I think we are a very small group of people willing to get creative like that though.
Thanks buddy! I work from home and I'll let you know more specifically what I use it for. I'm in the IT industry which requires me to RDP into a lot of client environments. This of course requires use to entire username and password which would take way too much time to look up.
I set up the tablet with little icons that say "send username of client" and another "send password for client".
Nothing is stored on the tablet itself. The scripts are stored on my computer and they all use API to pull the password from Bitwarden / secret server. It's such a convenient time saver.
But ultimately, you are correct. We are in the minority of people which just means more deals for us! Haha

There are people use cheap tablets for many things like:
Audio Player: Dedicate it to playing music or podcasts, especially if you want a dedicated device for audio. We use this feature all the time.
Digital Photo Frame: Load your tablet with photos and set it up to display them in a slideshow.
Universal Remote Control: Use apps to turn your tablet into a remote for your TV or other devices.
Second Screen: Use apps to turn your tablet into an additional screen for your computer.
Recipe Book: Use it as a recipe book in the kitchen.
Learning Tool for Kids, etc.
Last year, I traded it in and got $20 Amazon gift card, plus additional 20% off the latest Fire 10 HD to bring the cost down to only ~$60 at this link:

Additional, I sold the tablet power adapter and USBcable for $10 on Marketplace.

And better alternative to a echo. U can turn the table into a echo device and hang it somewhere
