Microcenter bundle deal, in-store only unfortunately

CAS Latency 36, Timings 36-36-36-96
Yes, the ram timings are not ideal, but in real world application it will likely be unnoticeable.

16 percent with a 4090

Not everyone just games and not everyone has a top of the line gpu lol
On that site. Watch hardware unboxed review on YouTube, on a larger game sample, there are games where even 285k losees over 30%. For me, Intel is a dead platform. Amd you just update the bios, smack a new cpu, and off we go...
besides, that's not even the fastest Intel gaming cpu, which is 14900k. which you absolutely shouldn't buy.
microcenter has even cheaper 7800X3D combo for $599.
I have been using Intel all my life, but nothing is that responsive to gaming like 7800X3D or better whichi tried. Just butter smooth no matter what you play...
Until Intel launches Nova lake, for me that doesn't pay off to buy... unless you render videos mostly, and you need quick sync, and you Game occasionally. Intel is just way worse...in gaming

I wonder how many of you use 4090/5090 to play 1080p competitive. In 4k there's literally no difference in performance, 1-3% different at most from recent year cpus. 1440p under 9% from 12900k. And yes 9800x3D is a monster for 1080p. I bought 14700k combo from micro center at end of 2023 for 450$ can't believe it's still higher price at 499$ these days
I think a lot of folks forget that the use of DLSS often has folks running internal resolutions far lower than otherwise usual.
Also, synthetic benchmarks don't tell the whole story. I upgraded from a 12900K to a 9800x3d because e-cores are still a logistical problem. At best, you're tinkering with process lasso or core director. At worst, you're still getting stutter because reasons.
Also, total system latency is lower on the x3d.

While there are not much difference at 4k, the 9800x3d provides much better 1% lows which will give you a better overall gaming experience

Keep in mind that this is actually a B650 motherboard and not an actual B650E (aka B650 Extreme) motherboard.

ASUS naming this B650 motherboard as B650-E is somewhat deceptive.

Still a very solid deal. Not having PCIe Gen5 for gpu is not really an overall lost since GPUs have yet to fully use Gen4 bandwidth for the most part.

Get the 9950x3d
Does not seem worth it for an extra $240 for similar gaming performance unless you need the extra cores for professional workloads…plus need a better cooler for the 9950x due to the extra wattage. Just my thoughts.

The thing is with RTX gpu 4k performance dlss has internal render of 1080p with near 4k image quality, so you still get the CPU benefit at 1080p 1440p gaming even if your gaming at 4k resolution.

It's not true 1% lower is much better with 9800x3d. The reality is if you play 4K you won't need 9800x3d, 1440p mayb, 1080p GET IT. the extra bucks you spend on it might as well to get a better gpu. In my case, I would still take 13700k to 14900k , cheaper, way better multi tasking.

These mobo choices suck so bad. Can't sub anymore either. It's the same price to get the bundle AND buy a different board as it is to get the board/CPU/ram elsewhere.
