Don't know about bose 700 ( not a fan of Bose). However, I wasn't thrilled using mine for TV, even with a KEF cube 10 sub. Definitely no match for Samsung q990.
These will mop the floor with the bose and kick its a$$ again for not getting in the corners whether it's music or TV. Do your research. A proper 2.1 system beats a soundbar every day of the week. I have a few pair of KEFs in the house and they dead center image for sound when intended (i.e. TV sound).

Returning mine too. Though I have a subwoofer, I chose to experience these speakers without one. This is the right way to review a speaker. Not by adding a sub!
Adding a subwoofer will make any cheap speaker sound fantastic. It will do the same with these speakers too, and one will think - 'oh wow, these are great!'.
Even my HK Go Play sounded much better than these KEFs. This is definitely an overrated, more importantly OVERPRICED product!
These are going back to Costco. Anybody interested in grabbing them from me for the price I paid, can DM me.
100% spot on! I got out my HK Go Play to compare because I suspected it sounded better than these, AND IT DID. I think I paid $150 for the HK a couple of years ago and it is night and day better than these KEF's. It may not play as loud, but who cares.
Received mine on Friday and spent some time demoing and tweaking over the weekend. Anyone who says these have good/decent bass, is flat out lying. The bass is non-existent, a subwoofer is mandatory. The only positives I can say about this speakers is that they are very crisp and detailed. I did hear things in songs I either hadn't heard before or haven't heard since I had a higher end separates system. The negatives far outweigh the positives though. They are so mid (and high) forward that they are immediately fatiguing, almost like nails on a chalkboard. I tried all different types of music, old tracks, new tracks, etc., didn't matter. Also, the only mere hint of bass is when you turn them up so loud that the mids and highs are making your ears bleed. I even added an old sub just to see if I could live with these and it didn't help much. Yes, it added the missing bass, but a large portion of the spectrum was still missing. I had to turn the low pass up to 200Hz, but then the sub was doing the speakers work and it became directional.
I did my research on these and while most reviews are very positive, I suspect many were paid or received the speakers for free. These things are a hot mess. You are paying for the brand name and the aesthetics, not the sound or performance. When $200 Bluetooth speaker sound better than these, that's not good. My original Elac Unify's and the Wiim digital amp absolutely crush these in every category. That set up cost less and only have one more cord. The speakers aren't much bigger either and no less attractive with the grills off.
I had high hopes, but these are going back.
What speakers would you recommend? they sound better than the fluance ai41s I've had for a few years
If you are interested in a pair of passive bookshelf speakers to use with an amp, there are plenty of options in the $250 to $500 price range. Elac DB53, Polk ES15, Kef Q150, and the list goes on!

Did you configure them with the app? They are low in bass but they aren't without it completely. It's good enough for desktop speakers I feel

Yes I did, bass is at max setting and I tried the desk and wall placement options to see if they would produce more bass. I also tried moving the speakers closer to the wall, corners of the room, etc. Minimal improvements at best. While there is DSP going on in these speakers, they could have tuned them for much more bass than what they are putting out. Having said that, nothing can defy physics and these drivers and cabinets are too small to produce much bass anyway. I was hoping that they would use DSP to produce more, but they probably opted for pure/natural sound. I hate to compare these to a sound bar (for bass output), but the Sonos Beam probably has a similar cabinet size (when the KEF's are added together), are not ported, have smaller drivers, but produce significantly more bass than what you would think is possible. So, it can be done. If memory serves, the Sonos Era 100's have much better bass on their own, but are severely lacking in mids and highs. Also a smaller, not ported, cabinet.

Elac for the win here, but any of the above will sound better than the LSX II LT's with an inexpensive digital amp. Could easily cost less as well, even at $600.

Completely agree 💯. Returning the LSX to Costco today.

Similar to what I think of my LS50 Meta, so I didn't buy these. I guess I did the right thing.
Absolutely wrong. It is your opinion. Please do not speak like you know the ultimate truth. I dare you to suggest speakers in similar price range with better quality but here is the kicker: THEY CANNOT BE LARGER THAN THE KEF LSX. GO!

None! These are unjustly expensive. In my opinion, it's not a product that justifies the price (even at $600). Nothing special about what they can do and sound like. They could be even inferior to their cheaper counterparts!
Some companies just price their stuff exponentially high to appear like a special product. KEF is one of them, they do so with most of their product lines. I do love their Q150s since they are rightly priced and sound good.

For everything else they are great though!
