Man, phones are expensive now. I miss my Google Nexus 5 that was $300 and lasted 3 years.
Reviews were more technical. Provided in-depth information about camera, network signal, battery's, and other stuff that mattered more. Now it's more washed out, filled with ads, sponsored commercials. The experience was more fun,had a variety of manufacturers that gave unique features.Nowadays,it's mostly just a race to put out products, regardless of how good, defective or unnecessary they are.Fast paced money hungry corporations who don't really value useful features, rather they just push bs. Way overpriced too Things are sure different indeed.More greed, less fun.

You don't want to see Samsung and Apple prices then.
I don't miss the 5" screen, 16gb of storage or half-day battery life. You can buy phones with perfectly adequate specs for under $300, but you aren't getting a flagship level phone for that, unfortunately, unless you lock in an expensive monthly plan.
I'd consider the OnePlus Nord N30 though, if you really do only want to spend $300 on a new phone.
I have a Motorola g stylus. It was $250 and does everything I do on my phone perfectly fine. (Texting, phone calls, occasionally take a picture of cat, Wikipedia, YouTube, and pornhub lol)

Great phones; I have the 11. I just wish the camera was as good as the Pixel line.
Download gcam for it, makes a huge difference.

These companies need to read the economic room -- most consumers aren't dropping $800 or more for a phone.

Apple seems to be doing just fine with the iphone. If you buy an iphone or fancy Samsung with carrier incentives, you're still paying for it every month, in the form of high monthly rates for service. I know, $600-$1000+ seems like a lot to me too, but they sell ungodly amounts of phones for that.

Yeah, some of us are definitely a lot more demanding, but plenty of people never use most of the capabilities of their high-end flagship phones. I've been an Android guy since the first mass market Android phone, and have wasted a whole lot of time with custom roms and various tweaks. I go with prepaid services and used buy used 1-2 year old flagships, but with the OnePlus 11 I started just getting what I want. But I have to acknowledge that there are plenty of lower-to-mid level phones that are plenty good enough for most of what most people do, and I could make do with one if I had to. $200-$300 models now are just about up to par with the top level ones from just a couple years ago. There's a right device for everyone.

Just dropped in to say that I have this phone and really enjoy it. I had been a Samsung S Plus buyer for the past several years. I think I owned the S21 Plus through the S24 Plus. I saw this as being a cheaper, more compelling alternative to the S25 Plus.

It is nice to finally have a flat screen on these, and the camera isn't too bad either. (I don't really notice any difference from my S24 Plus.) The battery life is really great. I no longer worry about charging my phone every night -- just in the car or at my desk when I think about it.

Finally, the somewhat svelte OS skin is nice. I appreciate not having a dozen or more redundant Samsung apps on my phone.

I got mine Open Box from Best Buy for $800 plus a $100 GC. I don't regret the purchase at all.
Only issue with open box is inability to trade the phone you have. So not as good a deal for me.

That's okay, but some of us need way more. I use my device for content creation/vlog, photography, video/audio editing when away from laptop and I've even done beats. So a Stylus is fine for basic uses, but not demanding users.
