Would this work as a trade in for Samsung Galaxy watches? I seem to recall on the last watch deal there was an option for other smartwatches for the trade in.

The problem with all these cheap electronics from China is that requires an app to use is that you wonder if the apps are stealing all your data off your phone. Cool cheap stuff to just play with, but the app.....
If you understand how Android or iOS works, you would know this is only possible if you give the app permissions to do so.
And even then, apps are entirely containerized to the point where sharing data is only permissible with user intervention or higher level access than your phone is going to provide.
There's no preventing you from sabotaging yourself, but both OSes try really hard to stop you.
But, if that's not convincing enough, you can always just stick to goods made elsewhere.

It's 2025, EVERY company American included is collecting and selling user personal data. Look at 23andme's bankruptcy, a Judge allowed them to sell people's blood test data and info to repay their debts which is a HIPAA violation.
Purchased one similar to use as a fitness tracker and it works great, you don't have to link it to the app for basic fitness results, it has a lot of features built in, at least mine does, I purchased mine for around $15, has great battery life also, and uses the veryfit app.

I actually owned one of these watches. It worked great....for 5 months, then one day i was working in the shop and suddenly the face literally fell off the watch. I think i paid $29 bucks on Amazon at the time. Just buyer beware that it is what it is for that price. Also the DaFit app sucks. Battery life on this watch was amazing though.
You can just use an old phone that doesn't have any of your data on it to install the app and setup the watch. Or learn to use the Island app. But with either way you won't be getting notifications.

Oh wait... we don't make anything elsewhere.

Or so you think…
You "think". I know.
Who is going to tell your data is being used? That's the fun part: they won't.
Individual data is seldom that precious. But data en masse…thats $$$.
