That's a Micro USB B connector.
There's nothing weird about it. It just predates USB-C by about 8 years.
One side supplies data and the other side applies additional power. A single Micro A cable will often work, though it's not advised. In fact, you can connect it to two ports to fix a lot of stability issues these have with cords over 6".
If you don't want to deal with it, they make adapters so you can use any USB-C cable.
$2 on Amazon. Hot glue it in permanently. Problem solved.
The real issue is the price on the drive isn't great.
