Given this company's history of spyware, I recommend re installing the OS yourself as the first thing when you get it. The new windows will be automatically activated. Otherwise I like their hardware (I got another model of theirs).
If you're really concerned about security, get some more trusted brand, just in case something bad is in firmware or alike.

Old news. It was a bad ISO of windows, since been fixed a long time ago. You should always update windows and reinstall anyway. Just remember to activate it so it can be reactivated or sign in and tie that version of Win11 to your account or just go with Linux.

I have a couple of Kamrui and a Trigkey, and they came with clean Windows 11 install. Cleaner than you get from OEMs like Dell and Lenovo. Nothing other than bare Windows.

I will say though one of them appears to fail TPM 2.0 check in windows. They ask you to install their version of windows to bypass the need. I forgot how I did it, but I didn't end up using their version..

Just save up and pay the extra for a M4 Mac Mini. It's often on sale for $499.99. It'll last you much longer, you aren't at risk of it being spyware, and it won't just become e-waste next year from a random failure or you realizing you need a lot more power to complete the tasks you want (and it'll hold its resale value better if you do still find the M4 lacking in power).

I'm not an Apple person, but you aren't wrong. The M4 is surprisingly lower priced than I expected. It would be insane if you can get Proxmox on the M4.. for what it's worth, I was able to get ESXi 8 running on my Kamrui device.

Ok, read through comments, not a bad deal, but not great either as someone else said may be better off just saving for the mac mini which would probably have much more long term value

This model but upgraded (ACEMAGIC Mini Gaming PC, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H Dual Channel Mini PC 32GB DDR5 1TB SSD) or the Minisforum UM870 Slim Mini PC: Ryzen 7 8745H, 32GB DDR5, 1TB Gen4 SSD??? Anyone know how long this will last? Obviously the UM870 has a better cpu, but is it better overall? Never heard of any of these brands.
