Trying to figure out how this mounts. Not a fan of adhesive mounts and whatever the style, it has to unmount/mount quickly because it's not being left in an unoccupied vehicle.
ummmmmmm... First, this is the size of a key. Hardly noticeable. Second, The camera is a deterrent for thieves, and even if not, it RECORDS them. Use that head lol
Nobody is stealing dashcams nowadays. I live in nyc and even here nobody steals these cheap stuff.
Happy for you. Anything left in a vehicle is fair game here. Including items that indicate the operator has disposable income and is likely to have left other items of value in the vehicle.

Why would it deter thieves? NOBODY is arresting car thieves here, not to mention prosecuting them, unless it's really endemic in a high net-worth area.
But it RECORDS people breaking in through rear and side rear windows? With a 140 degree FOV? Fascinating.
I'm sure science will want to study that head someday.
Thanks for the info. Looks like the magnetic mount still uses adhesive but the suction mount appears to be a partial solution. Old enough to remember when they included the suction mount and didn't impose a $25 surcharge but such is life.
Still prefer the tongue-and-groove type mount on my ancient Cobra webcam.
This with a a229+ 2channel or a229 pro with the 3 channel? I'm probably gonna have to go down another 5 hour rabbit hole, but i just like the size of this one and it being a big name brand. I'd imagine this have less of the tech but more of the reliability.
After some researching, the tech upgrades you get from the chinese brands for less or the same price is pretty amazing. 4k, screens ect. What does this do that everyone likes?
garmin mini 1 "quietly" died on me in second year, the recording light used to stay on. since there is no screen, i didnt know it was dead inside. one day when i checked the micro SD card it was blank and nothing was on it. poor QC, bad part it, it died and I didn't know cuz the recording light would come on as usual. changed it to a VANTRUE mini which has LCD screen at the back and with better connection to the phone and resolution. its been more than a year and it works great. I wont be buying a garmin dashcam, esp one without a rear LCD screen again.
Same experience. My dad was involved in a collision and we didn't know it wasn't working until the moment I was trying to download the saved content

bought 2 garmin mini2 for both truck, one just died after 2 years of use. Very buggy app. memory card need to be very specific type. not a good experience. bought Thinkware pro with more features compare to Garmin with less expensive.

I am not surprised. I also had to replace the garmin mini 1 within one year under warranty as it would heat up the microSD like an oven. but even the replacement failed after a year and quietly died on me. bad part was, the recording light would still turn on as normal and i had no clue it wan not working.

1. It's tiny and easy to hide
2. "Hey Garmin" feature
3. Legit app unlike the others
