Unless you absolutely need something this small, it's going to be much, much slower than a small SSD like a T7 or Adata SE880 or a Sandisk. All of these are the same price.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DSG45V6K $26 more for 1000MB/s. I got the 2TB one during amazon spring sale and it's absolutely amazing, really fast. But it's small so if there's a lot of copying, it runs much hotter than my ssd t7 or t9. Understandable.

I personally think these are garbage. And don't be tempted by a lower priced one listed as "like new" from the warehouse. Ordered about 10 and none of them were working for one reason or another. Some were missing large parts that Amazon Warehouse couldn't be bothered to visually inspect. And, of course, they're certainly not testing them.

For people saying NVME enclosure, can you recommend one that has direct plugs built in and doesn't need cables? I like the convenience of an old school flash drive, and I have an old 980 laying around to use.

Hanging a long 980 and case off of a USB port on a computer probably isn't the safest thing to do...
