*sigh* still smarting over that Focus Camera screwup but got it in my head that I want an S9 now. :p

Best Buy has the black Lumix S9 Full Frame with 20-60mm f3.5-5.6 for $1,299.99, the same price that Best Buy and Panasonic are selling the body-only for (although Panasonic will give you 10% off for signing up for their emails). Of course, this is still about 45% more expensive than the F*ckedus Camera deal so I don't know how hot this actually is but I guess I'll know when I wake up to the roasting and downvotes tomorrow morning.

Best Buy charges a 15% restocking fee on cameras so not for commitment-phobes.

That's a shame about the mix up in the last thread. I still can't believe someone got Best Buy to match. Must have been that rep's first day on the job or something haha. Sometimes it helps to try multiple reps but you'd most likely be rejected by any of them who are paying close enough attention.

Hope you enjoy your new camera. I had the G7 years ago and it served me well.

I picked mine up for $999 - 20-60 kit lens with free 50 1.8 lens rebate from kenmore camera in Seattle back in January. I think they sell it for $999 regularly but no more free 50mm lens. If you are from Seattle area, check with kenmore camera.

Yeah some people are lucky and other people are me lol. Still haven't gotten a new cam yet but vacation's coming up so might just bite on this anyway. Thanks!

I think I've seen you comment on other threads about that deal as well but (un)fortunately I'm not in Seattle and their website is showing $1297.99 for the kit and $1299.99 for just the body lol

What is the point of having no handle as well as bigger battery compartment? Showing off vintage looking extremely expensive camera that looks good only with subpar tiny full frame lenses? It is worse than big guys buying a7c with base or always on cage even. Using a small camera with two hands is not very smart too imo.

If both new, it is better. But A7iii is too popular and A7V is coming, you can get unbelievably cheap ones on used market, likely with an unbelievably cheap less-loved lens also.

Some people don't need that when traveling or going to certain places. Your generalizing like that is unnecessary and unfair especially if someone wants a compact camera with a higher spec but can live with the limitation.

A7III menu is clunky. The S9 has better autofocus compared to that one now, and anyone who says otherwise is Sony-biased and unable to understand changing tech from 8 years ago.

Sony bias is economical. Changing tech, unchanged imx410 sensor. Modern imx410 cameras are better, they are still in same generation with a7iii. New data intensive sensor and processing unit +transformer AI make latest generation cameras, cheapest of them are from SONY, too. Unfortunately I can't afford them as non pro. I'm not paying $2000 more for better tracking and more fps, all of them I don't use. I pay $50 less at least to hundreds less at best on e mount lenses, I think to most people, paying less for comparable lenses is what matters.

Even 40mm F2.5 G is taller than handle. You will be rocking RF28mm or 16mm for real "compactness", and canon has no "vintage" camera yet. So I guess it most likely is Zf+26mm or 28mm for what product you described. I'm not sure rich nikon people would use subpar lenses since they usually fall for great optics in nikon's most expensive z lenses.
